I just read about this. He was found safe. The woman was found and charged. Just when you think people can't get anymore vicious, you read something like this. So disgusting! All I could think about was myself, taking my daughter to her newborn checkup a few months ago. When you think about it, we're all just sitting ducks, at the mercy of any isnane person who decides to do something like this. Anyways, I'm glad that at least the baby was found safe and returned to his family.

The good news is that the 3-day-old newborn baby boy torn from his mother outside a Texas pediatric center has been found- safe. BUT--- his young mom, just 28-yr-old years old, reportedly shot up to 7Xs & then run-over as she tried to save her baby is dead. The suspect? A registered nurse. Cops say she wanted to a adopt a baby for herself. Well shes now charged with capital murder. I feel terrible for that poor little boy

It is a sad story. I saw it on the news today. I can't imagine how painful this is for the family. The child abductor/murderer apparently had a miscarriage and was replacing her baby. As women we are trained to be alert & ready looking out for potential attackers. Gernerally we are looking for creepy looking men hanging around. It is sad that we need to have our guard up against women as well. I have a strong willed independent toddler as well as a 2 month old. I fear becoming distracted and one of them being snatched. When I am out with just the two of them (I also have older children) I feel like I am paranoid.
BTW remind new parents not to advertise their new baby with balloons & signs in their yard or usxe those cute stickers of the stick people with family member names on the rear car window..... childabductors use those things to target victims.

hopefulljenn- I saw this episode of Dexter once, where this sick freak targeted a child because of those stick figures on the back of the van. Needless to say, once I started having children, I definately chose not to use those. Its sad that something as innocent as that can be used for sinister purposes- to this day when I see them, I always feel kind of sick.

And yes, you're right about women sadly needing to keep their guard up around other women. And she was a nurse, too! It's so frightening to know that a women in that position of trust would be capable of something like this. I'm surprised she didn't try to snatch a child from work.
