Feeding your infant and ensuring they are getting enough nutrition is one of the most important aspects of parenting during that first year. This community is dedicated to those who are nurturing a baby, whether breastfed or formula-fed.
I want to find some sort of learning materials for a 1 year old. I am wanting to start a regular learning schedule with William and want something good. I have seen the my baby can read but have not heard great reviews on it and it is kind of pricey. Thanks for the help!
When you go to the supermarket hang out in the produce department... there are so many colors and smells and textures and you can talk, talk, talk about it all!
When you are reading point to the picturtes and name it, ask him to tell you what it is... even if he just makes a baby babble sound it shows he is taking in what you are talking about and trying to aommunicate with you.
My older children both attended the same preschool starting at age two. There is a lot of play, and even the structured activities look like play. During their circle time they introduced a letter a week.... so when we were at home or out and about we looked for that letter and words that start with that letter. They were both reading a little when going into kindergarten and avid readers now. My 1st grader read over 280 books during the school year (yes, they keep count!)

Its been a big learning tool for my daughter. Sticking magnets to the chalkboard has built up her coordination. She is learning how to draw using different tools (markers, stamps, crayons, chalk, and paint). The feltboard is great too, since you can buy felt cheap and cut out simple shapes for fun play. Its something that she will use for a very long time. Plus, it only cost $50!
