Don't feel bad its totally normal to not want to have sex right after you give birth. 5 weeks is still very soon and you and your body have gone through a lot. Also, having a newborn is a ton of work and I'm sure your very tired.
It will come around trust me. I am on a ton of medication that affects my libido as well (bipolar) and my sex drive is totally back to normal and my son is 8 months, but don't worry it won't take that long.
Try to relax and just enjoy your time with each other and it will come in time. Congrats on your new little one, treasure the time they grow so fast! Hugs

i agree with paise..it is still very early and its a huge thing you have gone through..men just done understand..just because a doc said your body is ready does not mean your mind is..take your time and you will feel back to normal soon..big hugs

Try connecting just the two of you. I needed one on one time with the hubby and some time just to myself so that I could feel normal again. Suggest a date night with no strings attached.

Sometimes it helps just to have non sexual affection and contact, like for him to give you a back rub or cuddling. I know that after all of my kids I just wanted some comfort and it made me feel better and more interested. If not you will get there it does take time sometimes.

Like the others said, it just takes time. 5 weeks is not enough time. AND men just don't understand. Is this your first baby? My husband told me after our second child that he was actually jealous of the baby (and embarrassed for admitting it) because in those early months he felt like the baby was taking all my love and attention away from him. If your husband is not involved in helping take care of the baby, let him know that he can and should be. Tell him what to do and assure him he won't break the baby. It will help him bond AND take some strain off of you which might even lead to
