You should probably check with your doctor. Usually your body needs more than four weeks to recover before getting pregnant again.

That's too soon to even be having sex after baby, let alone trying to get pregnant! Most doctors agree that you should wait six weeks before having sex. I don't know how long they'd recommend waiting to get pregnant again, but you might want to give yourself a few months to get used to being parents and, if you're breastfeeding, you might not be ovulating right away, anyway.

It is reccommended to wait 2 years after giving birth to concieve again because of what pregnancy and delivery does to the body.

I would definately wait a couple years. Just think of how difficult it is sometimes with one baby, and multiply that by two. It would really stress you out having two babies at one time. I know I couldn't handle it.

Well, I certainly think that 4 weeks post partum isn't a good time to ttc, your body is still recovering. Also taking care of a newborn is hard work, an adjusting to being a parent is difficult (at least it was for me!) I love love love my daughter, but its hard work! But I also don't want to wait that long to try again either. I want to have kids close in age, and I think I can handle it. My daughter is 11 months old, and I am thinking of trying for #2 in the summer. Plenty of people do not wait 2 year between babies and have healthy children, so I suggest you wait until you recover, and you feel comfortable taking care of your baby, and then think about when its best for your family to have another addition.

Wow 7 kids is alot, but of course its up to you and your partner. I have 3 kids and im pregnant with my 4th, i do agree your body needs time to heal but not 2 years. When my first child was 6months i was pregnant with my second. I waited 14months after having my second child. Took me 1month to get pregnant. When my 3rd child was under 4 months i got pregnant. I am 15weeks. I will admit i had my children close in age, but i wanted them close and i am happy they are. But it can be tough at times, but i wouldnt have it any other way. Also my body has handled these pregnancies fine and my children are healthy. Me and my hubby are planing on this pregnancy being our last. Goodluck

I got pregnant (on purpose, with the help of my doctor) 4 months after giving birth. You are usually advised to wait a year in between giving birth and conceiving but mine was a special case. It was an extremely rough pregnancy. If you had a hard delivery then there is no way I would try in the near future. Not only has your urterus not even gone completely back to normal size yet but the drain that could rest on you emotionaly and physically could be awful.

Preggymama, thanks for pointing that out. I've sat here and read through ALL the other forum posts and it's been... enlightening. Intersting that in this post she says she wants another yet on the pregnancy forum she says that she gave birth 5 weeks ago and just found out that there's another baby inside and is on the way out...and then a day later posts and says that it was born and weighed nearly 5 pounds-5 weeks after giving birth to her last one. I'm over it.
