Feeding your infant and ensuring they are getting enough nutrition is one of the most important aspects of parenting during that first year. This community is dedicated to those who are nurturing a baby, whether breastfed or formula-fed.
its heart breaking to hear and see our little ones go through all that pain and are not able to tell us exactly whats bothering them and where.
my son wasnt drinking his formula very well around 6 months. hes 11 months now. i was concerned that he wasnt getting enough of the vitamins from the formula that he needed. his pediatrician recommended that i supplement vitamins in a liquid form. i get him the polyvitamins which has about 5 different ones in it. you can give your daughter it by mouth or in her food.
im not sure if you use pacifiers or not, but if you do, try putting ones you are not using in the freezer. i do this which my son so when hes really fussy, i give him a cold one. not olny does it soothe his gums, but it gives him something hard to chew on as well. you can put teething rings in the freezer as well.
if she likes her baths, why not trying giving her a bath to help calm her down ?
as for the runny nose, i would recommend doing saline flushes and then using the nasal bulb to suck anything back out to help her breath better and reduce the amount of stuff going back down her throat.
1. infant tylenol,
2. use your finger to massage her gums or let her chew on your finger,
3. cold foods like chilled applesauce,
4. frozen teething ring or just filled with cold water,
5. a bottle with some cold water in it,
6. or put some water in bottle and freeze up side down and let baby suck and chew on frozen nipple,
7. frozen banana,
8. frozen towel,
9. a cold plain bagel,
10.teething biscuit,
11.some fruit in those mesh teething bags like sliced apple,
12.let her suck on a cold spoon...I read that the cold metal helps the gums....
13. I agree with the saline and bulb for the stuffiness. My son is always stuffy and we do that and it gets some good boogy's out!! lol
14. You could also try a cool mist humidofier for the runny nose and stuffiness.
I dont know if all of these things will help...My baby hasnt started teething yet but I hope they will help a little!! Good Luck to you and your daughter!!!
