If she doesn't have any trouble swallowing, I wouldn't let it worry you. "Excessive" is sortof a relative term... I don't really know what would constitute excessive drool in your perception, but if the swallowing seems to all be working fine, and she is not losing weight, is having plenty of wet diapers (indicating she's obviously swallowing fine), then I would just double up on bibs and tell the doctor for good measure. Her face is symmetrical... not drooping on one side as if she can't control those muscles, right?

She very well may be teething. Some may believe its too early... but both of my children seemed like they were born teething, and each had four teeth by the time they turned four months old!

My DD drooled a lot when she was an infant. It went away when she started teething. I think that some babies just drool a lot. I wouldn't let it concern you too much. Ask the ped. just to be sure, and to set your mind at ease.

My daughter drooled a ton at 2 months and still does at 4 months. It's nothing to worry about and is perfectly normal.

carter only recently started drooling. but it is because he is teething. he turned 5mo a couple of days ago. i read somewhere that drooling for some babies is normal, as long as they are able to swallow just like aikigedi said.

My son also drools constantly, he has done since similar age. It could be teething or it is just one of those things! Nothing to worry about :)

My son has been drooling a TON since about 2 months old. He'll be 5 months here soon. We go through bibs like CRAZY!! I think it's just one of those things some babies do!
