my baby is 2 weeks old, in the last week or so he has got bad diaper rash, what does everybody use, i have tried almost everything. nothing is seeming to work, a & d is working the best but i dont know how long i can use it for, he has very sensitive skin,

I used a combination of things.
I used Sudocrem and corn starch. Try letting air get at it.. Keep the diaper off for a bit.. This can be a bit messy but there needs to have some air on it. Baths are good as well. Good luck!

Have you used "Butt Paste"? I use the red tube and it works VERY well. My daughter (now 9 months) had a terrible rash when she was 2 months old and even the prescription cream made it worse, so I went and tried the red tubed "Butt Paste" and it was gone within two days. You said you've tried almost everything so maybe you have tried this lol. My son, now 9 years old, would get diaper rash every now and then and I would use the A&E OINTMENT (not the cream) and that worked really well for him, but his never got too terrible. I also agree with Jules that baths are very important along with airing out. Good luck, I hope things clear up very soon!

I use aquaphor for every day but when she gets a rash I use desitin. It takes about a day or two to get back to normal. Make sure you change him often and give him a bath every night washing his bottom really well. Good luck!

Go to your pediatrician and ask for Silvadene! THAT IS FRICKIN AMAZING MIRACLE WORKING STUFF! Silvadene is used on burn victims, and you just layer it on like you're frosting a cake and the diaper rash will be done within 6 hours. My ped gives it out in buckets.

Seriously- I swear by it cause nothing else that you can buy does NOT work. Baby's skin on their bottoms is always changing and I highly recommend this.

the best thing to use if its bad is lotriman itd in the athletes foot section its the cream in the orange tube my pediatrician suggested it and it works wonders my lil one was allergic to pampers and we didnt know it and he got such a bad rash it had turned into sores and i used this and within 48 hrs it was completely healed up
then i switched to huggies and hes never had rash since... but im serious that stuff is a miracle cream and it doesnt burn them at all

Butt paste is amazing! Also try Aveno oatmeal baths then let them air dry before putting a diaper back on. If the rash is spotty hot and raw then it could be a little bit of a yeast infection. Normally I would suggest lotramin but I'm not sure if you can on a baby so young. Maybe ask your ped?
