My mother in law is driving me crazy!! I gave birth to our first son 3 months ago, her first grandson. She is absolutely nuts. If she sees him, she immediately wants him out of his carseat so she can hold him. Now I understand that she's really excited about him, so are we. And she gets ample time to hold him as she drops by whenever the hell she feels like it many times throughout the week. I recently had to tell my day care provider that she was only allowed to pick in up in case of an emergency when said provider would be made aware of the change because she'll just go get him whenever she wants! She constantly complains that he never gets to spend the night over at her house, and it's because frankly, I don't trust her judgement. She has random weird people at her house all the time, drinking and smoking, and they play loud music. I just don't see why he has to stay any place other than his own home with his mommy and daddy. We've let her babysit him before and the one time I let my sister watch him instead of her she crabbed to the whole town about how we don't trust her and we just don't like her. We make no attempts to keep the baby from her as I understand that it's important that they have a relationship. This is seriously a miracle child. The fact that he is here in the first place is an act of God because I have polycystic ovarian syndrome and my husband suffered from a lowered sperm count after his hernia. I can't seem to let go of these little things but then I think, why should I? He's my little boy and if anything ever happened I don't know what I'd do? I feel like she takes special moments away from me, like sharing his picture for the first time(we work in the same office). She calls him "my baby" as if he were her own. Then she talks about how she's gonna take him to races and to Disneyworld and all this stuff and I'm thinking, you realize that you're the grandma right? And I'm not dragging your annoying ass on every family vacation we go on!!! I guess I'm just looking for some insight on how to deal with this madness. It's making me crazy and extremely resentful. Oh, and when I ask my husband to talk to her about it, he says, you're the one with the problem so you talk to her. Help!!!
