Ok so we need help! We are in a pretty good routine of going to bed between 8 and 9. I put William down in his crib asleep and he is fine and was sleeping through the night until last week. Same routine except after about 4 or 5 hours he screams, and I mean screams. I go in give him his paci, pat on him, pick him up if I have to. A lot of the time he never really wakes up he just screams and will not calm down until I put him in bed with me an dh. Once he is in our bed he is fine most of the night. He never really has slept with us, he was in a bassinet and then moved to his crib. I am hoping this is just a phase that will quickly pass because it never was a plan for him to sleep with us. Please help any advice is great. Thanks!

My son started coming into our bed aged about 4 months because he was waking but not hungry, just needed comfort and some hugging. I found it easier to deliver this with him in bed with us although we never planned to co-sleep and he goes in his cot every night to start off with. I think maybe they get old enough to be scared or have bad dreams in the night. Whatever it is that causes it, I'm pretty lucky that a hug seems to cure it and send him back to sleep! Although my son doesn't wake screaming, he just stirs and gradually gets more and more awake so I grab him while he's still sleepy and pop him in between me and my husband. Is your little guy old enough to be suffering from night terrors? I think that causes infants to wake screaming.

I'm not sure about night terrors. He is about 8 1/2 months. He never just stirs awake he screams. He was fine though a week or so ago and he is always so happy when he first wakes up in the morning which is so strange. But I guess maybe because he is actually awake, he just babbles and smiles, but middle of the night eyes are closed, never open, and he is screaming and crying.

My son started doing that at 13 months--he's almost 15months now and still doing it!! Drives us NUTS!!! I'm not sure what the reason is, or what to do about it????????????

9 months is around the time most babies go through their first spout of separation anxiety. my sons always been in bassinet or his crib, but around 9 months he got sick and it lasted off and on until about a week ago.

hes just over 11 months and i am still having to bring him into my bed from time to time. i try to let him fall back asleep in with me and then move him back. if he continues to get up, then he stays in my bed for the rest of the night
