Parenting Newborns & Infants (0-1) Support Group
Feeding your infant and ensuring they are getting enough nutrition is one of the most important aspects of parenting during that first year. This community is dedicated to those who are nurturing a baby, whether breastfed or formula-fed.
He goes to bed about 10-10:30pm
Wakes about 2-2:30am for a feed
Then sleeps again until about 5-6am
Feed again, sleeps until 8-9am
I then try to get him to nap within 1-2 hours of waking up, sometimes it is no problem, other days, he is beyond tired, and even with soothing I have trouble getting him to sleep. Some days he will have long naps, others it is mini little 30 minute intervals after he has fed.
For the most part my little guy is pretty happy, we have nice play periods where he is alert and content, as soon as he shows any signs of tiredness I try to get him to sleep, sometimes successfully and sometimes not.
Not sure if this helps but just wanted to let you know I have pretty much the same schedule as you with my little guy!
up 6-7 am
down after each 1.5 h for at least 30 min but preferably 1 h
to bed at night around 7-8 pm
My son was the worst sleeper but if we stuck to the schedule described above he was doing great. Otherwise all hell would break loose. I read in several books that babies that young need 12h of night sleep or more and that they should be up early and to bed early. My pediatrician also said at that age they should never go 2 h without a nap. I hope this helps. Naps are the hardest thing we had to deal with.
Struggled with very painful wind but found Colief drops and they are a Godsend!!!
Good luck to all the new mums! xx
Her schedule is:
9-10pm bed
2-4 wake up and eats. MOST of the time she will go right back to sleep.
5-7 feeds again and goes back to sleep sometimes to 11am!
Then during the day she will only cat nap.
But Im very lucky that both girls like to sleep in. Yesterday I slept until 10:30am!
Each baby is very different. My older girl slept ALL the time and very cat napped...
