Well I can only speak for myself, I LOVED IT!!!!! It let me do things when she was fussy like go to the bathroom, get dressed, I would even set it next to me on the couch and she would watch tv with me! It was a life saver when it came to medicine time cause she was sitting straight up and I had use of both hands for her. I use to even sit it infront of me on the dining table (of course they say not to, but i never left her) and would feed her that way when she started taking table food. My daughter is small, she was able to sit in it until she was 10 months old, now she is to big and I am sad! LOL but she can use the high chair now. I have the bouncr and the jumperoo and all the other things, and I used the bumbo seat the very most! Again this is just me, but it was a lifesaver for us!

I love our Bumbo....but don't go with the alternative (POD), as I've heard not-so-good things about it from friends and fellow moms.
Anyway, my son loves it and it is ver secure. My only issue is that Evan has pretty "biteable" little thighs and sometimes when I go to pick him up the seat comes too. This isn't a problem: It doesn't hurt him and the chair is extremely light, plus it's made of a very funky & flexible material, so you just have to bend the center a little side to side to release the chunkier of legs.
We've used it in restaurants, in lieu of the high chair, outdoors on the grass, for travel or just on the floor to play. It's pretty sturdy and well worth the small amount of money it cost. Mind you, we also had/have bouncy seats, swings, johnny jumper AND an excersaucer, but on the days you feel like you're doing the baby juggle it really comes in handy.

Ha. Went out to Target and got one. It's cute...she sort of looks like a little buddha in it. I feel like I should kneel down and ask advice of her when she sits in it. Oh, mighty Ellorie...what shall we do about the state of society today....

My grandaughter is 8 1/2 months old. She was born with Hydrocephalus. She has some mobility issues and this seat is a God-send. She is unable to sit up on her own yet and this seat is perfect for her. We prop her up with some blankets in it and she loves it. It is soft and flexible, yet sturdy enough to keep her upright. I understand they make trays to fit it as well. Haven't found that yet. But, love the seat!

We have a bumbo and although it is a decent chair my son is very long and skinny and his legs ALWAYS slipped out of it. I have heard really good things about the bebe pod as well, which has a tummy support at the leg opening. bebe pod also comes with snap on trays.

i tried my son in my friends' baby's bumbo and his thighs got stuck and he screamed until i took him out. they're a great idea if your baby likes it - can you test a friends one out?

I have seen these & I was thinking the same - do I REALLY need one, what with all the other paraphenalia I already had? Plus, they seem awfully expensive for a lump of foam. Then my son made the decision for me - he began to sit on his own! Though I have a friend who sits her daughter in one on the kitchen bench to feed her - safe or not, I am not sure, but perhaps a space-saving alternative to a high chair?

my mother-in-law bought one for Quade and to be honest he hates it. he will only sit in it for about five minutes before he starts to scream. the only time i use it is when i know i'll be visiting another person's house that doesn't have a high chair so i have something to sit him in when he eats.

We did end up getting it, and Ellorie liked it for a while, but now she does this weird back arching thing when I put her in it, as if she is trying to squirm her way out. I even tried buying the tray that goes on t, but she still isn't too keen with it. Oh well.
Two changes I would make on the Bumbo Chair though:
1. Holes for ventilation.
2. WHEELS. How fun (and probably as unsafe as could be...but fun!) would it be to push the little ones in the Bumbo seats around the house? I'm pretty sure Ellorie would have a grand old time. Oh well, yet another unnecessary purchase.

This always amazes me, just how different ALL babies are! Some love things and others hate it!!! I went crazy trying to get the Rain Forrest Jumperoo when it first came out, Oh I thought she would love it, and she DIDN'T...LOL, lesson learned, but the Bumbo seat, I could not have had lived without it!

I know both sides...I got one for my daughter, who's 5 months not, and she will sit in it for about 5 mins max, before squealing to be taken out!, But my neice who is a week younger than my daughter loves hers and would happily sit in it all day. So I guess it depends on the baby. Off subject...what are the jumperoo's like? LOL

I really like ours. My little one is 4 months old now and it is really helping him sit up on his own.
