she si a big baby but all baies are different. Her weight will slow down even more when she hits 6mos. My daughter is only 2 mos and weighs 12 pounds but all my kids are big and my doc have never been concerned. I am more concerbed cause I always ask about it!CHubby babies do not necessarily make chubby toddlers. My kids are also tall too. She sounds healthy and that is great!!

Did your doctor think she was overweight? My son is17 or 18 pounds at 5 months, and he really isn't that big of a baby - there are many who are bigger than he is. I think your daughter is fine.

My daughter is 16-1/2 lbs at 4-1/2 months, my doctor was fine with that said she was a nice healthy girl. My older two were big babies too, they are both tall and skinny now. They slim up a lot once they start walkng.

When I took her in at 4 months because she was not feeling well the doc said that she was to big at 15 pounds and that I was feeding her to close together. He suggested that I giver her cereal in her bottle at night. which did not really help. At her 5 month check up she gained a pound and when I asked if this was ok he said yes that she was fine. You do not know how much I worried over this because she would not go any longer then 3 and half hours without eating during the day. which the doc wanted her to go four or five.

i wouldn't worry about it too much, as long as you are on a regular schedule and she's not just feeding all the time you're fine! My Jack is 5 months and weighs 21lbs...before he eats! So babies are just bigger, i'd hold off on any diet ideas and wait it out a little!

I am with Moe my 'little' boy is 5 mos and 21 pounds too! :)My ped hasn't expressed any concerns on his weight. ((I do think height should be taken into account too but in general I wouldn't worry about it))

My husband's niece is 5 months and weights 18 pounds. She really just has a big head! I mean huge so that is probably where most of her weight is.
