Parenting Newborns & Infants (0-1) Support Group
Feeding your infant and ensuring they are getting enough nutrition is one of the most important aspects of parenting during that first year. This community is dedicated to those who are nurturing a baby, whether breastfed or formula-fed.
My DS is almost 11 months and not saying a word...he babbles away in this nonsensical baby babble but doesn't clearly call me momma all the time or say dada or baby, bye-bye, or kitty, or anything. I have two older boys so I worry because they of course were at this age. Well, I figured out that this little guy doesn't HAVE to. He has said dada when he has needed to and momma when I'm not giving him what he wants.
So maybe your daughter doesn't have a reason to go anywhere. Maybe you need to tempt her with something other than a toy. Trevor for the longest time would just kinda stay in one place on his belly. Then one day I realized he wanted my Pepsi can so I started teasing him with it! He was dertermined to get that can so he worked. Over a couple of days he was really progressing. We had an un-opened Pepsi in his toy basket! LOL
When your daughter gets stuck you can try to just adjust her body to put her in a position that will help her figure out how to get unstuck instead of just helping her. I can remember helping Trevor up on his hands and knees and giving him lots of soft encouragement always telling him he's okay and good job.
I personally don't think a baby this age can rebel...give her a few months though! LOL And i don't think you are pushing her if you are gently doing this during floor time. Maybe she needs to be around some other babies to get the idea!
