Even though I don't pump, I swear I notice a difference in my production cuz the other night I pumped before bed at maybe 11 PM, so both boobs were stripped but I woke up at 2 AM and couldn't stand it they hurt so bad, so pumped to relieve some of the pressure. Last night I fed the little man at about 10 PM didn't pump, went to bed and when he woke me up at 5 AM, my boobs were kinda full, nothing like the night before. Seems kinda weird to me. I don't know if I had drank a bunch of water the day before and that was enough to influence them.
Have you made any changes? like your drinking or eating habits? Have you noticed your hormones acting up because I read that when you start to cycle again that your milk can go down while you are on your period (then it should go back up). There are also other foods/supplements to help with production, like oatmeal (not the instant kind but the steel cut) and fenugreek capsules and carrot juice.
what do you do on the weekends?? do you pump on the weekend or nurse her...if u are pumping i would try only nursing her on the weekends..no pumping ...that might help...
since u started foods already with her that will also cause supply to go down because she requires less from you since she is getting food.
My friend says that it's cuz I didn't exclusively breast feed at first - I had to supplement cuz I didn't have enough supply and then my supply went down with the infected C-section incision and then it went down again when I had the flu when Trey was 3 weeks old. She might be right, but I have a feeling I'm one of those ones that would have gotten it back right away anyways. Even when I wasn't ovulating my period was like clockwork. I also ovulated about 2 weeks after our D&C back in Nov 2012 - like clockwork.
Kate- Ha! I've read that too but there is 0% chance I'm pregnant. We've literally had sex 2 x since I delivered her and we used protection. Not sure about you girls, but my sex drive has really taken a nosedive. I have no interest. I don't know if it's the hormones from postpartum or the hormones from nursing.
