I kinda joke that Trey is my personal alarm clock cuz for now I have to get up every 2-3 hours anyways to check on our cattle that are calving. Hopefully by the time they quit calving, he'll be sleeping longer stretches. And it just gives me a good excuse to nap during the day. And I love my napping.
I've started not changing her for the 4am feeding and trying to stay in bed for the whole thing. Mostly she wants to sleep on me and not in the bassinet. btw, I can't believe how much I let her sleep on me. (I feel a little spineless I'd rather she sleep than start fussing/crying).
Do you go to bed to nap? or on the couch? I'm at a loss for how to let go and let myself rest.
My husband gets home around 5PM so eat dinner and spend some time as a family. If I need to, I go upstairs and take a little nap or some time to myself so I can be refreshed for the night time. Lately, I haven't been doing so because night times are going well.
Around the 6-8 week mark, Brenna finally got the hang of night time. Our routine is changing into jammies and nursing before putting her down, anywhere between 830-930 at night. She sleeps until 3-4AM now and then I change her diaper, nurse her again (I only burp in between boobs) and then put her back down until 7-8AM. I found it helps if you buy the overnight diapers- she isn't as bother by a wet diaper.
even at that my mind was always racing about bottles to clean, laundry to do, house to pick up, dishes to do, food to cook. Again, it gets better after say week 8.
