Over The Fence Community Group
A quote from one of our happy Over The Fence members: "Hi JS- Thank you for the welcome message. Do you remember that show Home Improvement and the neighbor Wilson Wilson Jr. who would meet Tim the Tool Man at the fence, but never showed anything but his eyes? He was so funny. This group reminds me of those encounters... you get the wisdom, humor, and support from your DS...
especially-
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Very nice, words of wisdom, words to ponder, words that speak
Thanks NDY
A few years ago I rediscovered it and was quite surprised to realize that the most peaceful times of my life was when I was living in a manner aligned with its teachings. I now often refer to it as a general guide for my personal path, and will pick a passage to meditate on from time to time. The most recent one was,
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
...
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Creeping fear and negativity are subjects I've recently found myself dealing with after over a year of faith walking.
I would like to share my favorite passages, as bookworm did, but I can't. To me, each verse is equally important in it's own unique message.
Thank you for posting this, NDY.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
You have taowalker to thank for this post as we were talking & he mentioned liking it so I decided to put up a research on it. In my bachelors degree, I was trained as a investigative reporter & an advertising researcher plus my minors in psychology & English didn't hurt either! (I graduated in 1997)
So if you would like me to do a request for you ~ even though taowalker didn't ~ just ask ...

I find myself coming back to this first link over & over again because it is such a lovely combination of a sweet child's innocent song; a wonderful ballad about Freedom with Desirata displayed in Blue type over nature's views. What a beautiful, winning combination!
I have to admit that I was disappointed to see how few have seen my work. Unless they have come but have not commented. For if that is the case, then I will never know their appreciation.

i like the part where you have a right to be here just like the trees and the stars.
it says a lot.
