The way our luck has run the lsat few elections? Mickey Freakin' Mouse. No, wait, think we had that one already.... Ummm.... Y'know, I actually doubt it will be a woman. Or another person of non-white ethnicity. I doubt it will be anyone we know a lot about right now, though. It doesn't seem to happen that way. I can't remember hearindg much at all about GW BUsh at all till it was 2000, for example.

No one in either party seems solid to me. Two years is a long time to go, and anything can happen. But I'm intersted to see what others think.

I'll note I've *never* called a presidential candidate or election correctly, so... Yeah.

I'm sorry, I really dont see anybody any better than obama..they don't care about us as people, and all they want is the money..bring them all down to minimum wage, and then, maybe we will get somebody , that want to really do something good for this country, and stop being puppets, for the rich sector. the last one that really cared, was kennedy..se where that got him??

Sorry NDY, been busy...

I honestly don't have much of a stance on it at the moment. As has been said, it's really too early to tell. Most of the time the front runners so early in an election cycle fall the wayside by the time we get into the primaries which is why no one has formally thrown their hat in the ring even if political pundits are sure that certain names will wind up on the primary ballots come 2016.

If you were to believe the 24 hour news channels, then the race is between Chris Christie and Hillary Clinton. Now I would think that, at least at this point, if Hillary decides she wants to give it one more go, then the Dems will support that and basically tell most others to shove off, save for maybe Joe Biden (though I can't see him beating her in a primary). I'm not sold on the GOP being sold on Christie, mainly because the tea party peeps will feel he's too moderate for their blood and at least the early primary states may find it hard to be swayed into his corner (others might if he gains momentum though in the same way Romney and McCain did in the past two elections). At this point he seems the most moderate of the current names being brought up, which means he'd probably have the best chance in a general election but have the worst chance in the primaries. A lot remains to be seen though as to whether A) Christie will weather the storm that is "Bridgegate" and B) whether the GOP want to play to the conservative party loyalists or try to go for a more broadstroke approach that might help them get more independents and disgruntled Dems to their side.

Two years is a long ways away though... so much can happen to change the direction of the next election that speculating now is pretty much just a fool's game, which is why they're already talking about it on the 24 hour news channels.

So shake them up in their respective "Party bags", pull out a name and hope for the best, huh? Whoever will win the most votes. Never mind what they stand for as they really aren't in charge anyways, right? Is this voting system we have just a charade, or what?

If you repeat something enough, it is believed, even if untrue.
If you have the most money, you can buy the most ads to buy hte most lies to repeat the most often.
Considering the gerrymandering of districts, the shenanigans of eliminating primaries to choose candidates (as here in VA for governor), and so on? The ones we voted into power want to take away our power to vote. What does that tell us? Hmmm....

Tells me we need to GET eVERYONE TO VOTE. Even if it's just for a lesser-of-evils, at least VOTE. The system only truly fails when participation does, IMO.

Oh, and we definitely need to hold do-nothing Congresses accountable. If they can throw around words like "impeachment" to get on the 24-7 news cycle, then why can't *they* be impeached? The last ten years have been a horrifying disgrace.

We'll know when the BIg Money decides to tell Big Politics what to do, alas. They should wear stickers to show who sponsors them.... Like race car drivers!

Not Obama and either a ridicules republican or a dumb democrat. Never get a good president unless we change the election process and get big money out of it and have serious campaign fund reform. Every candidate should get the same amount of money with no donor strings attached.
