Texas is a great place to go . Its nice and always 70 degrees and the people are sweet as honey. The Houston Galleria has all the shops and wheel chair accessible all over the state. Everything is so cheap to buy and the food is delicious. Corpus Christi has fantastic beaches and good hotels for under 90 dollars a night . The panhandle area of Palo Duro Canyon has plenty of outdoor shows in the canyon. Houston has a big airport called Intercontinental and you can fly in pretty cheap if you plan seven days in advance. Enterprise rental cars in Cyress are some of the friendliest people you will ever want to meet and they pick you up at your hotel. Plenty of places to get your hair done ,or go to the Houston symphony for an evening of musical entertainment . Perhaps a biked covered carriage ride on the beach of Galveston with some healthy snacks on the piers and jettys as you watch people fish on a beautiful day. anyway if your interested I can tell you more. The most beautiful sight I ever saw was in flying over the well lighted Panama Canal seeing the ships going through the locks. It looked lilke something in a dream. Then landing and watching them loading miniature llamas with silver bells into the plane.

If I could go anyplace I would go back to Rio de Janeiro on the beachfront apt. on Ipanema my husband's company owned and stay with our friends who lived there. Then I would watch the beautiful New Year's Eve launching paper boats with flowers or a small jewel ( not valuable) in hopes the Sea Goddess would grant their wishes. If the paper boat went out to sea, their wish was granted. If it returned it was denied. All the participants dressed in white; Candles blazed all over the beach near the water. It was a ceremony of the Candomble religion.
All there to watch stood respectfully at a distance and silently watched. Very moving ceremony.

I have two places I would love to return to: Prague and Venice. So very different but so very unique. My memories of travel usually return there although I've wanted to go to Greece for a very long time.

Recommend, maybe Hawaii? Have not been there but folks have, to Maui. Said it was very nice. Very pretty. Drove on that highway, the Hana Highway.

Best place I have been to was Mazatlan Mexico, awesome beaches, nice locals, had a great time. tried that parasailing? whoop whoop I was so nervous! But it was fun.

If I could go I would go to Italy, the food, the scenery, the language!

if you want something affordable, "washington d.c. where everything is free" the smithsonian is so many buildings and so huge and fun, you can be there all week and go to a different building each day, there is something that interests everyone at the smithsonian, and its allll free. all the national stuff is free. the whitehouse you need reservations a day in advance, but it too is free. i would pack your lunches in your back pack though because eating out in washington every day. near by is mt. vernon and further south is williamsburg virginia which is a village and bush gardens which has a little bit of everything, renaisasance village, parrots, gardens, beer...you name it. if sightseeing isn't that fun for you the beaches of delaware and virginia are right there and the chesapeake bay is also there which has one of those world's longest bridges connecting it to cape may virginia.

for an inexpensive vacation its the top.

if you want to travel for food, you may want to go an easy route and go to epcot in florida. they have chefs from each country and a replica of small areas of each country and souvinirs so its a nice way to see a little bit of everything. stay in kissimmee, as its five minutes from the entrance and its also cheaper, around $39 per night for a room.

if i could go anywhere right now i'd want to tour parts of central america and south america for about a year if possible, because i haven't been there at all yet. either along the amazon or just around the coastal areas, haven't figured it out yet.
