OK, you asked.... nothing! I really dont want or need a thing... so instead of my getting gifts I am asking for donations to a couple favorite charities.

Wag,,,ditto on that...we as a family will buy only for our grandson as we all have stated when we want or need something we go out and buy it,,,I know that sounds boring and it's nice to have a little something under the tree but I always state the only thing I want is everyone to be together and have a nice dinner...As for having it on that day,,,doesn't even matter,,it could be a week early, week late as we work around it...I just like all my family at the same table and listening to their stories and what is going on in their lives...

Secretly? I would like a web camera so I could set it up to watch and talk to g/s...but maybe I will get it for my BD a couple weeks later if I hint around huh?

I would like family harmony for one day. One day where everyone just gets along. I love my kids but when they get together I feel anxiety. If I had to pick an actual gift I think a box of scrapbooking stuff as I have so may old pictures I need to get into albums!

I have a love/hate relationship with Christmas. I've got five kids and nine grandchildren....and I'm unemployed so buying gifts is always a nightmare for me. I never think about what I'd like because I'm too busy stressing over what I'll get everyone else. For the most part I don't worry about my grandchildren because most of them will do just fine...but I do have a couple of little ones who really need something from their grandmother. I try hardest to get things for my two younger girls and my youngest son because if I don't buy them something they won't get anything. Once I have them all taken care of I really don't care if I get anything or not...I just want to be able to sit and look at the Christmas tree and relax to some good old fashioned Christmas music...oh and maybe a small piece of fudge.

NDY... I would say that there are many legitimate charities to choose from... I really like the Toys For Tots guys, Habitat For Humanity, and Best Friends animal shelter, but thats my personal choices. I also have a shelter (no kill) here in New Mexico I love, they always get a gift from me. Just listen to your heart... and then give from the heart. Short of money? Why not donate 20 or 30 hours to a food bank or soup kitchen? Nothing makes you feel better than to help others....

I was inquiring about a similar charity here .. thought YOU might kno of..NOT toys! Not a house! Something Sustainable for my 7 & 8 yr old darlings to understand about giving out of need. THEY are giving THEIR own gifts AWAY!! READ the link I put there ..It tells it all!

I like to THINK I DO help others on a DAILY basis wag..EVERYDAY ! Besides I am physically incapable of tending a food bank or soup kitchen but my keyboard works just fine...You did so well in researching my bitty doggie that I though You may have done it again for all those and in THIS way share the results with all who pass THIS way ..

Val ~ I hear ya .. i have 5 children and 12 3/4 grandchildren (one due 1/12/12 )But they are thrilled by making something together or even a gift from the dollar store. They kno I have little but I give Big through out the year of my time with them..

I make a point out of celebrating EVERY Holiday and indulging myself in some way - however small.. i don't feel selfish bec i think of Myself! I refuse to feel guilty bec i want to buy myself a freezer!
