WHAT are YOU doin on New Year's Eve / DAY ?

Myself - I am spending my New Year's Eve with my 2 young grand daughter's - 7 & 8! (YAAY!I am SO excited !!) We will have a "cocktail party" with Shirley Temple Gingerale's w/cherries, some tidbits, maybe some fondue... then ...

WE will go to CHURCH and bring it in with our fellow parishioners & when we get home DO the NOISEMAKER thing!!

Then ... we will get in Nana's Big Brass Feather Bed & tell stories till we fall asleep!

Then... .in the morning ... Blueberry waffles N' Hazlenut Coffee !

Then - On New Year's Day we will probably DO some sauerkraut n' hot dogs with mashes on the stove ...

Then ...For dinner (at Happy Hour - 1/2 Off Milkshakes - Of course ! ) THIS year 2012 - WE are going out to Steak N' Shake for Mushroom & Swiss Steak Burgers Combos with Mommy - MAYBE ~ Change Up our Luck!!

I'm coming your way NDY! Wow, I love your plans and the food sounds fantastic.

The only thing I usually do on New Year's Day is make lentil soup. My mom always did, she said it brought good luck for the coming year.

I have no idea. I guess I'll just wing it. Wife and daughter may have some plans, might have even mentioned them to me, but...oh well. I'm sure I'll find out what I'm doing, when the time comes. LOL

Wow that sounds like so much fun!

I am going to my house church...a small group of Christians that love God and love people. Not sure if we will stay up 'till midnight, but whatever we do, it will be fun.

NDY, what a special grandma you are, my grandkids are older so they have plans, I will stay at home and perhaps fix a nice dinner for my brother and some friends, maybe watch a movie or read on the computer.
It's a sad day for me thinking always of my precious Mom, it is her birthday and I know she is happy with Jesus, you just never get over missing your Mom and I had the best one in this world.

the plans you have for New years with your grand daughters sounds like the best way to bring in the New Year to me.We dont go no where on New Years Eve but to bed.We usually dont do much for New years day.Were having a Roast pork and sour krout.Which reminds me I have no krout in the house.

Hubby and I always stay home, we have "nibbler night", we make appetizers for dinner, usually watch a movie then watch Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin ring in the new year. It's EXCITING at our house:D

I'm probably going to go to dinner with my family on New Year's Eve like we usually do...but for the night I'll probably be home with the tv on Anderson and Kathy on CNN (you and me both bossmomaz!)...maybe give myself a nice facial while I wait for the official calendar flip, then off to bed. Might pop on here during the "fesitivities"...New Year's just isn't the exciting night of wild fun it used to be...

Maybe we should do some sort of "party" here?

Spoken like a true Pittsburgher... Pork and saurkraut.... Me too kid.... small pork roast, a piece of kielbasa and kraut in my slow cooker simmering to midnight. For luck the first meal of the new year must be pork and kraut. . A few fire works, great music, and then off to bed.

OH dont forget to put some silver on your porch stoop before midnight for luck!

    I recently heard a great 2007 song the other day, "Falling Slowly" because it popped up in my newsfeed, accompanied by the sad news that the  male singer, Glen Hansard, just died in a motorcycle accident.  I learned that the song won an award and was featured in an indie movie called Once. I just watched it, and it's really good.  They made it in 3 weeks on a $100,000 budget. It's streaming on...
