Over The Fence Community Group
A quote from one of our happy Over The Fence members: "Hi JS- Thank you for the welcome message. Do you remember that show Home Improvement and the neighbor Wilson Wilson Jr. who would meet Tim the Tool Man at the fence, but never showed anything but his eyes? He was so funny. This group reminds me of those encounters... you get the wisdom, humor, and support from your DS...

Now just about every family HAS a New Year's Tradition ... I know of some people who put a quarter in the front inside flap page of a Bible and set it out overnight & bring it in the morning hoping to catch a break and to promote some good fortune in the Coming Year..
Others i know have to eat pork & sauerkraut. or kielbossa ion New Year's Day to ensure plenty of food for the ensuing year!n Western Pa that's the German influence that 's innate culturally here....
So WHAT is your FAMILY NEW YEAR'S EVE traditions..? OR even those you have heard of for that matter.... Now when I was young , Back in the Day, we used to get all dressed up & go NIGHTCLUBBIN & GET hammered or wasted ~ WHATEVER came first !! ( I kno - Hard to picture, ain't it?? NOT meee !)
Tell the TRUTH now - Let's hear it !!! Any SPECIAL foods OR ideas? Post em HERE guys!!

I guess the closest thing there is to any tradition in my family has been going out to dinner on New Year's Eve. Not sure it will happen this year though since my Dad had to have back surgery and isn't really supposed to be going in the car other than to doctors appointments. My aunt has attempted in some years (when she hasn't hosted any holiday) to have the amily over for New Year's Day but when we've all just seen each other for Christmas (and since no one likes her cooking) we try to get out of that...one of the good things about Dad's surgery is getting out of that one this year!

I eat black eyed peas and my hubby gags. The peas are supposed to bring luck to you, the gagging illustrates how much he HATES black eyed peas:D

I recently heard a great 2007 song the other day, "Falling Slowly" because it popped up in my newsfeed, accompanied by the sad news that the male singer, Glen Hansard, just died in a motorcycle accident. I learned that the song won an award and was featured in an indie movie called Once. I just watched it, and it's really good. They made it in 3 weeks on a $100,000 budget. It's streaming on...
