Over The Fence Community Group
A quote from one of our happy Over The Fence members: "Hi JS- Thank you for the welcome message. Do you remember that show Home Improvement and the neighbor Wilson Wilson Jr. who would meet Tim the Tool Man at the fence, but never showed anything but his eyes? He was so funny. This group reminds me of those encounters... you get the wisdom, humor, and support from your DS...
I find it interesting that this keeps getting labeled "Obama". Congress wrote and passed the ACA. It's so heavily influenced by insurance industry lobbying interests I can't even call it a health care law. It's a law to make us buy insurance at whatever rates insurance feels like telling us are "profitable". Big Business wins again. As I'm a Rust Belter, this is neither a surprise, nor a shock, LOL.
If my state of residence would get its thumb outta its butt, I'd do well on the exchanges. However, I may move to Kentcuky, where it's doing pretty well for a lot of folks. Unfortunately, not in the cards. And I have to buy my own as my hubby's employer doesn't provide insurance and never did. (Another charming feature that was written in along the way: so many loopholes tehre's effectively nothing else.)
I'm disgusted by the ACA, the media hype against it, the whole shebang. THis could've been good and they let the stupid petty short-term thinking run the show (that is "I have to be re-elected and kiss Big BUsiness butt!"). Figures the only "airtight" law in the last 14 years would have to be the bleeping Patriot Act....
The only people getting any benefits? Insurers. Blah.
So in that vein, I think it is wonderful. We know the drug community won't do their job and congress is in their pockets, so ACA is a blessing to some.

I mean, come *on*. Like there was ever any doubt both R & D parties would bail out Wall Street but not Main Street? As I said, cynical Rust Belter. I knew who came to help us when Big Steel peed on us. Yep. A whole lot of NO ONE.
Oligarchy. It's an ugly word.
