Sorry ~ i just posted this so Y"ALL"S could see that things are not always taken lightly by some folks.. Like the "swearing" that took place but was barely legal & so couldn't really be deleted w/ o deleting a perfecting acceptable topic..

And the fact that I can't seem to "recruit' someone to present the scriptures which I treasure that has the "attitude of pietitude" that is so needed to ''mingle' with us common folk.. ALL of God's people are Special People. When are all the "religious people" gonna get that?

There will always be those that wish to engage us low lifes, and those that think they're above that sort of thing. You (the editorial you) can't legislate morality, nor can you (personally) have a group (OTF) that appeals to both ends of the spectrum, AND to all those in between. If someone is not comfortable here, they have to leave, it's just that simple. Be glad she cared enough about you to tell you.

Also, I hope you asked her before you made her views public. OTF is not a bunch of 3rd graders and you the schoolmarm. This a dynamic group of somewhat sensible adults. Opinions will vary, as will delivery methods. I disagree that we need a religious person to present the scriptures, this is/WAS and OPEN group, just like being over the backyard fence. All we need is whatever we want. That's how you sold it, and I think it's working pretty well.

So, I think if you want a religious themed group, you should start a "BTP group (Between the Pews). Perhaps some would be more comfortable there. Just my opinion. Hugs.

Thanks TG for posting my thoughts so well - when I read NDY's post early this morning I had the same reaction but was too befuddled from too little sleep to write a sensible, balanced post.

I'm sorry that I missed the post that offended someone so much that they left. It's a shame that she left like that...over a word. Since I never made it to bed last night at all...like ThePeople I'm too befuddled to think of anything to say about this...so instead I"m going to say I agree with theGuardian. There are many groups for people to join that are too sensitive to hear the opinions of anyone who dares to speak their mind. Now I did not read what was written so I can't say how bad it was...and to be honest I'm too tired to care. I'm sorry that you are disappointed NDY.

4) I will be looking to recruit a "Christ-like Christian " to reveal the Word as i enjoyed going to it everyday & know that my other Christian Neighbors did as well. It is MERELY a thread / Post like any other ~ The Bible Scriptures..

5) ANYONE is welcome to Create A Topic at OTF following the FYI Guidelines pre-stated in the News INCLUDING a representative of Christ!!

6) In the FUTURE, any Clever Alterations of profanity WILL be deleted.. We lost 4 (four) members of Over The Fence Neighborhood "because of a word" and perhaps the topic as well. I don't care about #'s (numbers) BUT I DO care about Offending other people!

I have no idea what anyone is talking about guess I missed some post. What I do know is I do not like conflict or drama it is the things I quickly remove myself from and since I really like and enjoy the group and the people here I hope it doesn't become an on going issue. I know I read what interest me and not what doesn't no one is forced to join in any conversations they do not want to be a part of.

OK, I guess you've told us how you feel NDY and made it quite clear. I do not care to be chastised by the founder of the group in this manner or be subjected to her personal rants. Although I try to be patient feel I this post is the last I am willing to tolerate. I enjoyed my time here but do not wish to be a member of a group where I feel I must guard what I say, and I am not referring to the use of profanity regardless of how it is cloaked but my opinion, and therefore I am leaving as soon as I post this. If there are members who wish to continue to communicate with me please feel free to do so privately. I have enjoyed many of the posts here and wish you all the best.

As usuall NDY, you've jumped to the wrong conclusion, in my opinion. If OTF is Truely an OPEN Backyard type of free discussion group, then why would you "recruit" a "Christ-like Christian" to post religious topics. People wjo want religious posts will post them. If no on does, Guess what, that's a clue.

I'm not leaving, as People did, but I admit, I thought about it. Post what you want, and let everyone else do the same. Otherwise, you make it OK for me to recruit some foul mouthed sailor (and I know a few) to post filthy jokes. Just sayin...

NDY I did not see the post. But reading about what others have to say this is my simple way of looking at this. I have a tv. If I am watching it and something disturbs me- - - I turn it off. Reading the newspaper. If an article disturbs me- - - I stop reading it. Like I say simple. But then that is just what I am. A real simple kinda gal. Yrod

It is easier to put on slippers than to carpet the world. No matter what is said or done anywhere, there will likely always be someone out there who is offended by it. Sometimes you just have to let that person go and let that one roll off your back. Now, if the masses get angry, well, maybe then you take it more to heart and find out what the problem is and try to resolve it. I'm not sure what the initial post was that led to the exchange that occurred with MrsTDC (I hope it wasn't anything I said though!) but if she feels like this isn't the right place for her, then that's her decision. Same with anyone else who has decided to leave the group. Some places aren't right for everyone.
