I agree with you NDY, mags can be, and are very interesting, informative, and entertaining!

I like Newsweek, keeps me current on the news of the day, interesting articles.
Psychology Today is one I used to read, have not for awhile, I think it is still in circulation? Interesting articles, research/theories.
People-Not so much for the celebs, but for the interesting every day people that are in there, like the heroes, the ones who make a difference.
More-all about "older" (mature is a better way to say that I think!) ladies and their issues, etc. etc. I do not read those Glamour type mags, they typically go after the younger women, 20's-30's. Once in awhile I will see something interesting in them, an article that strikes a chord.

Backpacker was my favorite because it had places to backpack and different stuff I liked about gear and things . I like to get the Enquirer and wait to go through it with my mom then we would laugh and talk about different things in there. same with gardening books looking at other peoples beautiful gardens and flowers. thats lots of fun .

I used to get one called Country-had the most beautiful photos, just awesome, and readers sent them in, there were some good photogs out there who are not pros.
Would have old recipes passed down from grandmas, interesting articles about where people lived, their daily life on the farm, in the country, or even in the big cities.

I picked up a magazine in the free box at the Library the other day...
It is called Reminisce. I immediately thought of Foxysdad and his group Boomers because it recalls 'good times back in the day' It was a Christmas Holiday Edition. On the Cover it reads:

I used to read Reminisce, got it 2nd hand from SIL, also Birds 'n Blooms, nice stories. Once in a while I'll pick up a Guns and Ammo, or TheOutdoorsman. Not too into Mags, do mostly online research.

I like Good Housekeeping, I also like one called western horseman.
