Over The Fence Community Group
A quote from one of our happy Over The Fence members: "Hi JS- Thank you for the welcome message. Do you remember that show Home Improvement and the neighbor Wilson Wilson Jr. who would meet Tim the Tool Man at the fence, but never showed anything but his eyes? He was so funny. This group reminds me of those encounters... you get the wisdom, humor, and support from your DS...
Here I AM, Lord !

I would just like to share that I have been through some tough times; some of life's worst struggles... I couldn't understand at the time - especially how some things worked out... BUT if they wouldn't have happened to me _ I wouldn't have been as effective in consuling others as I am now having "been there - done that " !!
Like when I was 15 yrs old, living at home in high school still .. I had dated a boy whom my Dad had hired to help him remodel the attic. He was a big guy - about 280lbs,6 foot tall. We broke up shortly after that but he continued to work there as my dad had already stated the project.O
One afternoon, I came home from school and fell asleep on the couch. No one was home as both of my parents worked. I woke up violently as the hired boy was forcing himself on me. There was nothing I could do he overpowered me & raped me right there in my own home . It was easy for him as i was wearing a dress.
I tried to tell my mom about it... I was too embarrassed to say much more than that the boy had gotten very fresh with me. She replied that that's how men are. I repeated that I meant 'very' fresh.. But she had to leave for work & said that we would talk about it later. I had been virginal and had blood on my dress. So I saved it to show her when we talked the next time.
The next day at school, he told every body that I "had given it up to him!" That wasn't true but who was going to believe me? He was much more popular than I was and more out going too. So, I just denied it & became afraid to say anything more to my mother. And telling my father was simply 'out-of-the-question' I was too mortified for that!
Later on that year during an argument , my father blurted out, "And I know all about you & (name) too ! " That was one of the factors that caused me no guilt when I ran away from home 2 yrs later! I felt I had been right not to confide in him after all. I never had a good relationship again with him as a father and certainly not as a friend.
I only share this with all of you now to let you know that if you are hurting ~ God can heal your wounds too. And, if you need to talk ~ I am right here. I can share my true Father-God with you. His healing power reaches everywhere. And God has also helped me to forgive both the boy & my father.
This was one of my storms ... Anyone else care to share ?
HUGS + LOVE
