I tried to buy a good pair of leather slippers but they to were too wide. I have decided to research shoes but then go to the store to buy. If I go to the store and know exactly what I'm looking for, I would consider buying online again.

No I haven't bought shoes online...need to go to store and try on for fit and comfort. I do shop online for other things.

I have to buy from a store, to make sure they fit right.

Because of my past health history, I have HAD to buy through catalogs and online. What I discovered accidentally through all of this is that their is so much MORE out there in Cyberland as to variety and the fact even with the cost of shipping for replacement when returning n item for the quality of product available it is VERY desireable to order either by catalog or online itself.

People remark to me quite often that I have the most shoes on on!! Where did I get them so that they can get a pair too!

Answer: BETTER quality and better cost controls...

tried a pair of dankso's from zappos but they were the wrong size <sigh> (love my dankso's tho')

people: I LOVE the endless variety globally and domestic ONLINE and I also LOVE BROWSING the paper catalogs I take along with me on my many long bus trips!

You kinda learn that domestic sizes run pretty much the same ; foreign makes are usually smaller. It is well worth my love of the shoe to pay return shipping for the correct size WHEN IT DOESN'T FIT. I have already re purchased the same shoes either in duplicate or a different other color IN ADDITION to the ones I already purchased because I JUST LOVED THEM SOOOO MUCH!!

Most varieties I like like Privo or Woolrich etc, are NOT AVILABLE in my area or if the brand is ,THE VARIETY is not!!

I have good luck with online shopping for shoes. They often are return free if do not fit. For my husband with Alz. it is the only way to go. The last ones he bought in store for a graduation were too small and narrow. He knew it but did not want to look any more. Son with him was no help at all. So it is online for his shoes.

Speaking of shoes, I like those Teva sandals, I wear them pretty much year round, except when I go outside in winter, then it is boots. Those Tevas are very comfortable, fit good, are not too loose, or too tight, just right. I wear them alone, or with socks.

I buy athletic shoes online, but for dress shoes, I will only buy them from the store because the fit is much more critical, as they are generally made from stiffer, less yielding materials.

I don't like buying shoes online because I like to be able to try them on so I know whether they will fit and feel okay on my feet. I have wide feet and low arches and have sprained both feet on separate occasions so I have had a lot of trouble with fit and comfort...if I just buy shoes online without trying them on I'd likely be sending a lot more back than keep.

I buy my walking shoes online from J C Penneys, other shoes I need to try on before buying.

I have a way of finding shoes on Clearance, marked down so low, that I cannot resist...so I have a bunch of shoes. If I needed a pr. I would not hesitate to order on line. Walmart is marking down Winter clothes right now.. our Superwalmart has everything for $3.00, yesterday they had dollar racks!! Shoes are 10. but if they go to 5 I will be tempted to buy a pr.

I buy so many shoes from stores mostly JC Penneys and Payless that I don't dare start looking on line!
