Religion?
Sex?

But hey I think most anything goes! I like a healthy debate, just don't like gruesome stories, and many times, crime, too depressing.

On those first ones, I think respect goes a long way

I don't shy away from any topic usually...unless I get the sense that the person I am talking to will not engage in a calm discussion with me on that topic. Like there are many people you cannot speak to about politics or religion without it becoming a heated debate (some of my extended family for example) which I don't care for because no conversation should turn into a shouting match. Oh, and being a (sad) Met fan, I know better than to ever try to discuss baseball with a Yankee fan. That's just inviting trouble.

My OWN religion especially with a friend of mine.. when they act like I (age 67) just fell off the Church pew & never heard of the tenets of Faith. I get their version of 'Their Sermon On the Mount".. I keep saying , "Yes.. I already know that.." (to NO avail!) and they keep goin like as if iIleft the room.. They get on a roll er.. I mean tangent and then here is no stoppin them!

I hardly even go to their apt and hesitate to call them on the phone unless I am prepared to take out a major chunk of time.. and get an ear-beating!

Maybe you will think I am not a good person for feeling like that ~ I say God isn't finished with ME yet!!

NDY, don't blame you, my neighbors keep telling me all about the Bible. Ummm... I went to Catholic school, mass twice a week, class every day all those years on BIble and religion....It can get very tiring to be told again, but I try to think of it as they are excited to share what they know, even if I am not excited to hear it *again*! ;-)

I think any topic is okay if you are respectful, but the trick is to find someone who will be respectful *back*.

Sex is just about the only thing. Guess its because I have so little experience.

I hate talking about abortions and usually change the subject as soon as I can when anyone talks about it. I understand both sides of the coin and while I'm pro choice I have talked a few people into giving birth when they were leaning the other way.
