I would ask her if she knew Christ died on the cross to suffer the sins of the world and if she knew Him so she can be saved through Christ the Savior . She would probably get angry and tell me to screw off but it wouldn't be anything I hadn't heard before.

I can answer that without the 'if,' some of my friends are Wiccan, others are initiates of Santeria and other paths. I welcome them into my life because I value them as people not because of their religious beliefs, or lack of them. They like all my other friends, individuals with wonderful characteristics and some difficult shortcomings. It is not my place to judge their spiritual life no more than it is theirs to judge mine. I have a few Christian friends who pray for me, when I had surgery one kindly gave me a Mass card. I was very moved by such a thoughtful gift although I have no faith, I am agnostic. When someone tells me they will pray for me, I thank them with sincerity. I would decline if my Wiccan friend were to offer to cast a spell for me, or my Santeria friend to perform a ritual because I do not believe and it requires material to do either. However if they wish to remember me in their rituals I have no objection. I believe as Islam teaches, if there is a God, all the roads lead there, some are just shorter, and more direct than others.

I am not going to harsh on someone's belief system. Their business, not mine. I was taught that God judges us by our intentions and deeds, not by the building we pray in or the rituals we use to express our faith.

I have an aunt that is a practicing witch and I have no problem with it. I actually get along with her better than most of my extended family. Her spiritual beliefs are more in line with my way of thinking than my more conservative Catholic relatives. Just because it's not considered a religion doesn't make it any less spiritual either. Organized religion isn't always the right way.

ThePeople, I am curious, why would you accept prayers from a Christian friend though you say you have no faith, but you will not accept spells or rituals from your Wiccan and Santerian friends because you do not believe? If you're not on either side of that aisle, why is one more acceptable to you than the other? I am just curious as to why you feel this way, I'm not trying to stir the pot. I personally don't subscribe to any religion or organized spiritual group. Not to say I don't believe in anything, just that I don't think any one of those groups fits me.

I'd be interested, but it wouldn't matter to me. People accept me even when they find out I'm a nut.

TES, the Wiccan must pay for the supplies while the Christian only need think, and in Santeria animal blood is often used as well as money spent and I find that especially offensive. It is not the dogma I object to, but the worldly sacrifice. I have no issue with people spending their energy praying or performing ritual on my behalf, it makes them feel good, doesn't harm me or others so why not? And, for all I know it may benefit them, me and others.

well the way I see it is Jesus Christ said" I am the way the truth and the life" and" You are either for me or against me" thats it.no sitting on the fence,no I am not bothered what people believe! we all personally have to choose!!,no where to hide,His words echo down the centuries " Who do YOU say I am? "
there are lots of paths that lead to " dead" ends there is only one road to Eternal Life.
