when I was about 6 or 7 years old.....my uncle called on the telephone on christmas eve
and said santa and his reindeer had a sleighing accident and were all dead! I was completely
devasted and balled my eyes out to no end! I found out on christmas day....it wasn't true and it
took me a very long time to even want to talk to my uncle again.....let alone see him!

I had to tell my daughter because she was getting into fights sticking up for Santa when she was 8.

Seems like I just "outgrew it". I reached a place where I liked giving presents just a bit more than receiving them.

i was about 4 and saw a photo of my father putting together a toy crib for my doll - my parents tried to convince me he was 'helping' santa, didn't work, i was far too analytical to believe that.

" My BIG Brother Told Me, I Didn't Believe Him !!

So I Asked Mom, She Said, " Yes, There is A Santa Claus "

Then I Found The Presents, Hidden In The Closet,

A Couple Years Later " !

My big sister told me and my twin sister I think when we were about 9? Both of my sons had friends tell them there was no Santa Clause ' cause they were told by older siblings too. I think I tried to tell them there WAS........ but it didn't last for long.

Superfly. That was just plain wrong!!

THOSE older Brothers & Sisters are Real STINKERS sometimes ! Santa quit comin to our house after a while & I think I just figured it out in addition to my brother's admonitions1

I don't remember how old I was exactly...but I do know it was a family gathering (my dad's side always does Christmas the weekend before) and we were at my grandparents' house and every year "Santa" would come and all us kids would get excited...this one particular year I had opened my Santa gift and it was a doll and I showed my mom and wanted to show my dad but no one knew where he was and I kept being told he was in the bathroom but none of us kids were allowed to go upstairs (the gathering was in the basement because it was the largest space for everyone to mingle in). I was suspicious when he was gone the whole time Santa was there but came back down after Santa had left...not to mention how Santa sounded a bit like my dad! Needless to say, my cousins and I wised up to the fact that every year one of our dads would go missing around the time Santa would show up so we started to canvas the room every year after that to figure out who would be playing him.

You know what I remember? I remember my Dad once telling me "Have I ever lied to you?" and my reply was "YES, you said there was a Santa Claus!" I just figured it out when we went to town and Santa was in 6 stores and ring a bell on 7 corners. My own son created Havoc one year. It was deer season in PA and we went to Uncle Bo's house. On the porch our deer were hanging to age a bit before cutting and wrapping. My son went to childcare and said "No Christmas this year." Dad and all his friends shot the reindeer. The teacher yelled at me... as if my son didnt have a mind of his own!
