I just started reading about this "fog" thing. It is amazing how much my husband fits right into all of it. It's been 7 months since d-day and the day he left. I tried everything to get him to stay. I am looking for some insight into what he might be going through and how I can save my marriage. At this point, my last attempt was to write him a letter with the offer for him to come home. The letter also included the consequences for him not returning. I got no response, so I am continuing to pack his things and not let him in the house. He actually came back for a week 2 months after d-day only to leave again saying that he came back out of guilt. I believe that she is like his drug. He just couldn't stay away. He told me that he loved me like a sister and that we didn't have passion. Well, after 18 years together with someone (and since we were in high school) how can I compete.

Now, I am proceeding with the legal stuff and I hate every minute of it. I'm trying to stay strong for our kids and still hoping that when he sees the real consequences of his actions maybe he will wake up and come home. He is not acting like the person I have known him to be. Can anyone give me some tips on what helped to get you out of this fog? What were you feeling and thinking during this time? Did anyone proceed with some of the legal stuff and then decide to go back? I know there are many woman who wouldn't take him back. I just know that this is not the man I've known and loved for 18 years. Please help!
