I was diagnosed with POHS the end of August and right eye is active (I am 43). I got my first injection, a sample of Lucentis, on August 29th. Went October 3rd for check up and 2nd injection. At checkup my eye had improved from 20/400 to 20/70, and it was 20/32 with the pinholes. However I still have distortion in my eye because it is still leaking. Driving is scary, I have to work with an eye patch or I can’t focus, and I can’t watch TV/movies with my kids. Thankfully I can still read. I have begun experiencing anxiety and depression and more recently insomnia. Today is my son’s 10th birthday and I don’t want to get out of bed. I know I am fortunate in that my eye has responded well to the injections so far and I do not have any blind spots, just the distortion, but I am devastated and not coping well. My next appointment/injection will be November 7th. I’ve read accounts where people have said stress caused their flare up. We had just moved in July and I started a new job, but we were excited as we moved back to Ohio, so there wasn’t a whole lot of stress there. Anyway, I would love to connect to others who are fighting and struggling with yhis awful disease.
