First and foremost is my smypathies to those who have suffered for years. I am new so. I'm trying to figure where I fit in in this huge headache world as I'm finding out. I was just starting my 5th week of severe #9 pain all over my head 24/7 when a cocky neurosurgeon was a little piffed that I had taken his time for a head thing when he was surely a spine guy as I was told sternly. So without much warning at all I was given two, not one that's right. two occipital nerve blockers in the back of my head. Now I had not even know of this as an option at this point. We were talking about the steroid injection into a pinched nerve in neck and well we just surpassed all that. First the cold lidocaine spray to numb the whole area WARNING WARNING WARNING....then two of the largest needles I've ever seen and he doesn't mess around he tells you to put your chin down and then you feel tugging and pulling and hear the layers of skin and muscle as the needles pierces. Now I feel like the whole back of my head is a carnival balloon and still hurts like hell with two extra holes. In hours it felt like someone had taken my lip pulled it across parking lot, let go and it slungshot back to the back of my neck. The good to say is that my headache is down to about a #4, enough to let the other aches and pains back in lol. Today they have decided on a course of botox shots for my head and facial area for treatment. Ok. And she prescribed Imitrex and another, which once I heard was very happy because as I've said it's been 5 weeks of pain. I call the pharmacy, talk to THE pharmacist, he says yes the order just came in I'll have it ready by 5:30, and I agreed because I would be shopping. 5:30 I go and the boy tells me that they are OUT OF STOCK on both scrips. The raging lion came out! I yelled and hollared, of course to no one's benefit. Tomorrow is another day to make someone regret not knowing the facts and then not following through with a course of action.
