New to having to wear diapers and struggling with it Community Group
Im just going to try my own group and see if I can get a support community going. Im new to having to wear diapers (now 24/7) to deal with on and off problems from ulcerative collitis. The urgency is insane and I have no time anymore to make it anywhere. I thought I was ok with it but I have to admit its pretty hard. So if anyone else is going through that it may be nice...
Trying a new group for people who are new to this
Hi:
I thought Id try and start a new group to people who are new to this. I started having accidents at first while sleeping and having no idea. And then a few months later started having crazy urgency to go throughout the day and one time on a bus didnt make it. Was diagnosed recently with ulcerative colitis when they saw some scars on my lower intestines (or small intestines I forget). Depending on stress and other factors that seem pretty random actually, I will have massive urgency and sometimes make it but more often poop my pants. So as soon as that started happening even a bit I didnt want to take a chance and started wearing diapers. Now its like 24/7. its been about 5 months and honestly I thought i was ok with it but lately there is a dread that this may not go away and I may have to wear them for life. My doctors are saying I shouldnt go the surgery route just yet much to my surprise but I really dont want to anyway. They are still sure that the scars I have can get better and to not go that route unless you have to. So here I am. Just had a horrible experience recently (I put it in another post). So i thought Id create this group cause there isnt one that I found for people that are brand new to the idea that they might have to wear diapers and/or have accidents on the long term. If you want feel free to share whatever you think is helpful both to you and maybe to others.

I've just been updating my profile information because I had a birthday last week, and so I'm now 25 instead of 24. It doesn't feel any different though!Just so you all know a bit about me: I suffer with anxiety and occasional panic attacks, and sometimes I do an accidental wee in bed while I'm asleep. Now I'm a year older than this time last week I can report that nothing has changed, although...

In 2013 I had an accident resulting in spinal injury at the base of my neck with paralysis from there down, spasticity (muscle contractions and spasms) and double incontinence. Both my anus and my urethra have been left closed except with manual intervention. I hardly ever pass urine via the usual route (I have a suprapubic catheter passing directly into my bladder about 2 inches below my...

I hope you find a good solution for your issue. As everyone’s circumstances are different it’s difficult to provide good advice.
So chin up and good luck. However don’t forget you are not alone with this.
So I can relate to your anxiety of having and accident. To reduce anxiety I prefer using a thicker protection. Some applies to my daughter. I rather diaper her with a thicker padding and she sleeps through and wakes up well rather than trying to be thrifty and have to deal with the consequences.
Sorry to hear about your recent struggles. Remember you are not alone. I have always viewed diapers as a tool to continue living life as normal with out the embarrassment of not wearing one. Keep your head up and also don't forget about all the other good parts about your life.
