telling someone new in your life about NF

I am just starting to think about dating after my divorce and was wondering how anyone has brought up the subject with someone when they start to date them. When I was younger and out there dating before I was married I really did not have any tumors and did not know what to expect. Now I do have the tumors and I am sure I will get the questions what are they. I dont want to scare anyone away before they get to know me. Has anyone had to deal with this.

I am out there in the dating world and wonder myself....when is the right time to bring it up??? I have been single a long time and for the most part I have not made it past the first or second date. This has been my situation for more years than I care to think about BUT I did date a guy last year for a few months. When I did bring it up he said it was a "non issue" for him and that a connection was what mattered to him. That was really nice to hear! It made me feel quite relaxed as things developed. Unfortunately things did not work out but I don't believe it was because of my NF.

thanks Mare73 for your response. I am hoping that I find someone who does not care about the NF, and what I might look like. My ex didn't care about the NF, that was not our issue. That part of the marriage was nice. Unfortunately he also wanted other women in his life. I really hope that I find someone who wants to get to know me and cares enough about me to want to stick around.

I would sit them down and talk to them and if they have any questions about to ask because that the most important thing , I didnt have to deal with it so much because my fiance has had alot of medical issues and i met him after my last round of chemo from Breast Cancer and it was the best thing that ever happend to me because we both know what each other goes through and were alway there supporting one anouther, But if they cant except for who you are and cant see who we are as a person beyond this disease then they can find someone else.
And i wouldnt bring it up right away cause that tends to push them away then when you bring it up later on and you know you want to be with them the rest of your life as well .

Rose Im 55 and never had dated, although I had dates most were with the girls L have know either since first Grade or their friends from High School. That said Most humans aer understanding, just tell them. Best of Luck.
