Surgery to remove tumors?

I have had a few tumors removed before they were all done by a Plastic Surgeon, Due to the medical necessity of having those procedures my insurance paid for them. I notice that a lot of you here speak of having surgery to have some "bumps" removed , yet you say nothing about how you went about getting them removed..... You paid out of pocket...., Your insurance approve big or little bumps removed who performed the procedure and how was the procedure paid for. Insurance or an out of pocket expense. I have several small ones that have become painful lately and was wondering if I can have them removed using my insurance. But do not know where to start. Thank you very much for your time.

It all depends on your doctor. If you can convince your doctor they need to go, he can fill out the proper insurance forms. I've had both. I had one doc who refused to even ask the insurance company and another doc who just filled them out with no question and insurance did cover it.

I go to a Dermatologist every 6 months and she takes about 5 or 6 off every time i go. Insurance has covered it every time. I wish I could get rid of the really small tiny bumps. She said she didnt want to remove them since they were so small.

I went to plastic surgeron, he removed in office but they will not touch the small ones, I think that makes a diffence in whether insurance will pay for it. Those tumors can attached themselves and cause healh problems and if they removed when they are reasonable sized it is cheaper on insurance.

Thanks you guys....at least now I have a clue who I can go to.....I had 3 big tumors removed on the left side of my head...the first was so huge that it took 2 surgery to do.....the doctor who performed them was a plastic surgeon.....the surgery was a little over 2 hours and both of those procedures I had to stay in hospital couple of nights after the surgery.....same with the one I recently had back in January ...but that one was done by a different doctor....I appreciate all you guys reply...maybe I can find me a good Dermatologist that will help me....Thanks Again...

I just had surgery 2 weeks ago (this time I didnt have to leave the state) he removed 300 using CO2 laser.....insurance covered it.

Hey Fabulous, was this a derm doc or a plastic surgeon. I've never understood why they call them "plastic surgeons" Okay sorry, ADD moment. Please let us know how the heeling process goes.

Where were the bumps located that were removed with the laser. The plastic surgeon that performed my ED surgery said it's best not to use the laser on the chest area because the skin is more delicate, but I'm not sure how true that is.
