I am wiped out ... new update
dadda11o
First off, thank you to those who replied to my last update. Will probably make this one shorter, but not sweeter. LOL
My car is 20 miles away. It wouldn't start when I was trying to leave a store. I had to go to try to find a snake as one of the toilets clogged and plunger didn't help. Charge light had come on; it was so wet from flooded roads the other day that I figured either my alternator belt broke or is not correctly adjusted now (I heard it squealing a bit, then).
Phone was still broken, so the woman at the store graciously allowed me to call and I left daughter a message ... she and her boyfriend finally arrived but no cables. So we got those, but the car still won't start. At first, it seemed it was trying, but not enough so I just had them take me back to the house. Wish I had a battery charger ... but the battery should be good, even if drained, as it is less than two years old. Hoping to find some troubleshooting info before going back tomorrow. I actually had a lot of tears that kept forcing themselves out ... the other week, I had tow flat tires and had to sit on the edge of the highway for about half hour before a man stopped to help me ...
... as yes, I can easily change a tire in less than 2 minutes, but the man from the church had torqued the lug nuts with an air wrench and I could not get them to turn. I learned that you can jump on the bar, though, and then they will often turn, as that is what the man had to do .... maybe a little pointer that can come in handy ...
I have no idea WHAT I am going to do, if there is a serious problem. In past, I had rented car temporarily and I know my daughters will help me as they can. I can't rent a car and don't get paid til Friday ... and things have been tight. Well, when the pastor guy stopped by the other day, I had talked about the problems still facing ... I was told that God will fix things, either now or "in eternity". I'm not real thrilled about the way the local churches lack of support and telling ME to go away ... such I guess, is life or the maelstrom that passes for one, for the time being ...
But I guess I will do whatever I can to the best of my ability. Past that, there are no choices. Just wishes and hopes, I guess. And faith, I guess ... that no matter how hard and bad things get, that better is ahead. But yes, it really does suck to know that nearly everything I worked for and accomplished has been taken from me by force, fraud or legal attacks and never, it seems, is there any recourse for me.

Crystalcave: yes, $58. And you are right ... in fact, (sane) people who WANT a divorce ... do not make you a virtual hostage or prisoner ... they would have settled with me two or two and a half years ago. But when the POINT is not divorce ... found a text he sent me that I never opened when I was looking for my old phone the other day. It said something about me "respecting" him and that he guessed I will "have to learn the hard way". It's a threat, but not the kind one can do much about, it seems. Intentionally & maliciously bankrupting someone ... is apparently legal. I am glad to hear from you!
Thanks, Peacedreams ... and LOL. The spring was unwound (last year) so I took it out and tried rewinding it (had to break rivets and take apart a lot of stuff). First time (and never a surprise, first time) I wound it up the wrong direction, I think. So I have been fighting it awhile ... and that model, you have to buy a whole assembly, not just the spring or cord. Took the assembly in to the local shop; they insisted I need to buy the whole contraption ... a man on my route with a lawn/tractor shop (and 82!) told me he will take it apart and see if it can be fixed. He asked me right off if it was a Briggs and Stratton, so at least whatever he says, I believe he knows what he is talking about! And I got a lot of the front yard "mowed" the last couple days with the weed whip.
So it's Plenty of Fish ... never been there or heard of it before. It is nice to meet you ... I think I have seen some of your posts but don't remember if I replied.
Trisha, the homeowner's/auto policy is the ONLY thing still in both names ... in fact, he previously kept about $500 in reimbursement for counseling I paid out of pocket when all this started up again. He took himself off the auto policy a while back; in order to keep a discount, I had to put my bank account on it to have payments withdrawn. He added himself and the car he'd had for a while about two weeks before the payment was due to be withdrawn, plus changing the mailing address. Since I couldn't pay the whole thing with another $200 added, it also added another $85 charge (lost "pay-in-full") discount. So he put himself on two months ago, but has made no payment as of Friday. Thank you ... I hope the house does sell and soon ... I am ready to have a nervous breakdown some days.
Quepasa, thank you also for your kind words. I don't know about superwoman, just haven't had much choice. Plus, as time has gone on, I know whatever example I set is likely to influence our daughters and their own lives ... LOL I am not the one to rush in and "fix" things. When the girls were young, I used to make them spell what they knew and reason the rest when they asked how to spell a word. I sat down and helped my daughter reason through all the math problems (she was having a hard time and missing most problems, in about 5th grade). Sad to say, I'm often up against what I don't even know how to handle ... and so much of it shouldn't even be going on ... I'm sure I err at times and actually have little native patience, but I have learned to have it, as I have always trained new employees, etc etc. I learned that it can be fast to "do it all" for a while, but counter-productive in the long run. Plus, my belief is that my job as parent is to raise children who have the abilities to live successfully as adults ... whether they choose to use them abilities or not. The first year he filed, he used a lot of severe manipulation on them ... he still does, from what I hear, but not as often as they have so little contact with him now ... their regression and lack of adult experience has made it really hard to navigate and know exactly how much to "help" (but have a clear and frightening mental image of becoming like MIL that helps keep it real).

You can also take the battery out and find somewhere that will test the battery for you to make sure it will hold a charge. See if you can find a place nearby before you take the battery out.
like cars breaking down is tough enough, but with the Narc added to the mix,
it can start to feel like insurmountable odds.
It sounds like your girls are starting to "see" him for who he is. That is really
good news. Their ability to manipulate knows no bounds, and no one can
believe it. You have stayed strong in the face of incredible hardship and
lack of support. You are so courageous and resourceful; your example
alone will be a great help for your girls.
Thanks, Betty. I am SO glad to "see you" again and hoping to catch up on what is going on with you as well. I believe you are right. I honestly would have probably left, but knowing that if I did, they probably wouldn't have in the beginning. I knew that whatever happened, it would likely impact their future and future relationships ... and what you said about the "no bounds" ... so true and in a way, it is really hard to even try to predict WHAT might get thrown our way ... my experience and opinion.
LOL I wouldn't mind becoming a mechanic, if I could make a living, but it is impossible to get good at anything with mayhem and broken toilets, screens, budgets and all else going on too!! And then I want to encourage others and get my own courage fired back up ... but sometimes, this part of "life" (THIS ain't LIFE!!) seems to be going on forever and then some!
I am going to go kick back for a few and eat some hamburger helper and broccoli ... finally hit me I haven't eaten all day!! Not good.
Yeah, the car went crazy again two days ago. It is likely the alternator or the voltage regulator, which is inside the PCM (the computer module; one is for the car, then there is also a TCM - for transmission and several others ... if you are interested.
Right now, I'm too burnt out on EVERYTHING. (Gas has been $4.25/gal all week, which doesn't help anything). I scoured the internet long ago, looking for any sorts of clues for help ... I had found that so-called fund through the state DV agency that turned out to be unfunded ... honestly, I am sort of sick of agencies, the government and all ...
I had a police woman tell me yesterday that, if my daughter(s) approach and interact with their father (they are covered under the PO), that invalidates the whole thing. I told her that is not true ... that the person served should be wary and not approach. I had to read a lot of this stuff right out of state code, because nobody seems to do anything RIGHT around here, except occasionally. I'm speaking of "professionals" and advocacy agencies and the like. I won't bore you with it all, I have probably over the past two years of virtual prison complained on more than one occasion ... need sleep but off to work ... thanks to the graciousness of my daughter and several people along the way who've helped me maintain to this point (IN ALL KINDS OF WAYS!!)
More later ... tired, ate something wrong 2 days ago and still feeling it ... not grouchy, but probably sound like I am.
I hope you are felling better. Hope you are rested. You have far too much weight on your shoulders. Wish there was something that I could say to ease your burden. Just know I care. Jenny
"What doesn't kill ya makes your stronger." I hear you too redfern I aknow I am kind of sick with depression myself..dont really want to go the anti depressant route thinking of taking Krill oil.
Wanted to mention something, as it makes me sort of anxious (for obvious reasons). I went to the Sheriff's dept last week as ex has done some "atypical" things that are not "direct" stalking or harassment. I spoke with a deputy (female) and I also provided her a copy of the order. She tried to tell me that a protective order can be "voided" if the person who gets it (and in this case, we were speaking of my daughters, who are covered) approaches the person it is against. I KNOW that is not right, having read the law but also the PO "desk book" on-line, which has questions and answers - this being one of them. But I really feel concerned, for two reasons. First off, because it is telling me where she is coming from and how she is likely to respond to any problem situation (years ago, she brought me back to the house after he locked me up for being "suicidal". He stood on the front porch, yelling and screaming that I wasn't coming in ... she sat there, impassively) AND second, I obviously did not endear myself to her when I contradicted and corrected her ...
... but hey, in FIFTEEN YEARS, only ONE OFFICER has taken my reports seriously, and ASKED if I wanted it prosecuted ... it wasn't even one of the "serious ones". And the other day, someone posted an article on FB ... a little girl (six) was killed, even though she was "protected" by a PO against the father ... this happened where I was living while divorced. I've been wondering FOR A WHILE, WHERE are the DV organizations getting statistics ... because nobody seems to be interested to know that police or Courts aren't responding, until a tragedy happens AND THEN the story comes out ...
Redfern, I am glad to know that you are finding the courage and moving forward ... the depression and all the "bad things" linger longer than they should, that's for sure, sometimes even when the good things are beginning and (you) we don't yet realize or recognize ...
Had to ask my daughter, Snowy, but there is a song about the "doesn't kill ya" (Kelly Clarkson); I've heard it a few times and like it, but I say (now with a laugh) that I didn't sign up for the Miss Universe Strength and Resilience Competition ... these adrenalin rushes "suck". Oh well, this too shall pass ... just not fat enough ... and that segues nicely into what you said, Jenny. I appreciate the words ... the words lift me up, because I KNOW someone(s) are thinking of me, even when I'm not around or as much. And that is a help ... having been around the people who shut me out, intentionally and ignore me to punish and to keep their fantasy world intact!
I would SO love to bitchslap so many of the ex spouse N's .... and yours would top the list. I know you are very brave and I find you admirable.
I have a big wish that it gets much easier for you soon.
