I go to a favorite local park and hug and talk with a special group of trees. :-) The energy does me good.
Loving on my cats is soothing.
Watching online t.v., as I'm an 'anxiety crisis type' and watching British sitcoms gets me out of my messy head.
I just joined a wonderful Meet-Up group for women over 35. Looking forward to more socializing. Need it desperately.
I'm only now learning how to nurture myself.
I read that researchers were using it in a study for bipolar disorder, but they halted the study mid-way because there was so much improvement against the people receiving the placebo that it would have been "unethical" to withhold it from the rest. Since then I have read mixed reviews on the research, but it knocked out severe back pain in days that would keep me from getting up off the floor. I think it has helped my mood as well. If you have trouble finding it, let me know. I used to buy it on Amazon, but this was more reasonably priced and accessible. But I can easily check for other brands if that is not an option where you are.
Meetup sounds good; I checked into that but I am too far into the "boonies" with my decrepit vehicle, for the moment.
Which sitcoms do you like? I have watched Benny Hill and Monty Python (old!!) and I have heard of the British (original) version of "The Office", which I like but haven't seen the British one. And there was some hilarious one I checked out from the library a while back but I can't remember the name of at the moment. NH cancelled the satellite service after he left, so I don't even know what's out there currently.
I eat well.
I practice yoga and meditation.
I pet my dog endlessly and cuddle with him.
I think of what I want and visualize it - has nothing to do with the N, it turns out.
I am learning to let myself have fun. Drum circle was a blast tonight.
I married and moved. Then my focus shifted to my new job(s), my new hubby, (known here as the Saint), making a rural acreage beautiful, adventures with my foster children and their friends, a U Pick berry patch, gardening, refinishing a log home, hiking, canoeing, skiing, camping, my grandchildren and great grandchildren, my own kids, reading and new happy friends.
Phase 3 was to purchase another acreage, design and help build a new home, landscaping, gardening, hiking, canoeing, developing a blueberry patch for retirement income, a huge greenhouse, providing intensive care and therapy for one foster child, dealing with the other being a handicapped teen about to enter the adult world, enjoying the long distance friendship of my own kids, 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, happy friends and of course enjoying time with the Saint. I retired from my job this past winter. I am pretty much movie "illiterate"...if I have free time I would rather stretch out on the bed and read.
My life has been busy, full and fun since being discarded. My point in sharing my life is to encourage each one that what seemed like the end at age 50 was only the beginning of a very happy and fulfilled life.
Have courage. Your life can be what you personbally want it to be. It is yours for the living.
Da, please check out "Doc Martin" on hulu.com. It is SO good. I love Keeping Up Appearances, but it's not on there. I also liked The Vicker of Dubley, but have watched them all. :-) I'll look for the British "The Office."
Many years ago, I had some mysterious condition, dozen doctors, undiagnosed. Did research and got a 'little magic pill' from Whole Foods. I don't think they make it anymore. Hawaiian Energizer. After a year and a half of being unable to stay awake, and major depression, I was normal within a week. I'm a believer. Eager to try my new fish oil! xo
I take the ones with vit D added. Work ownders on everything.
I have a friend in Alaska who says that if you take vit D you are more likely to tan and not burn (for those of us with fair norweigien complections) I must not be taking enough yet, as I burnt my shoulders in less than an hour (about normal) but the Omega 3 does help with so much!
Well, I am going back to school, but I think this class might get the best of me.
I hike, by myself, with the dog, or with the kids.
Go for walks, sit next to the pool and just watch the kids swim.
I take time to read a non academic book every day.
I play games with the kids, Go Fish, Sorry.... whatever they want.
Watch movies, or old TV shows.
Clean out closets and pack up the N's stuff. Most rewarding shoving all his stuff in trash bags and putting them in the basement!
Yard work, not because I enjoy it but because after I feel like I have been to the gym.
Livelifenow: what is the hard class you are taking? It must be one of those "summer crunch" courses, too, which would make your life a delight for now, I'm sure. I hope it makes more sense or becomes more manageable soon, or whatever the case may be.
Then the end of year exam schedule for oldest is busy, and teens (pre) with friends over, and young kids end of year activities..... I am hoping for a C+ so I don't have to take it again. If not, then high enogh that they let me take the advanced classes too. Busier, but with face time with faculty. Anyway, I am tired. so sleep now and try and finish last chapter before they time me out tomorrow and give me another 24 hrs to take the exam. Last on line class I ever take.
