Yesterday, on my job, my ex husband called me. We've been divorced for 19 months now. He has the OW taking care of him after a Quadruple Bypass. She cooks, clean, does laundry and prepares his meals for the week. Without being married to her, she became a wife. She use to live in my neighborhood and that was tough on me, but she moved out of the neighborhood in October. I went 7 months of not hearing from him, and then he called me in October to pick up some tools and that one visit put me into a tailspin. So I blocked him from my house phone and cell phone, and never called him or visited him when he went through his heart surgery.
I have healed, and hardly ever think of him, or his new, wonderful relationship. And then he calls me yesterday at the office, because it is the only way left to contact me. He wanted to say, but quickly went into that he thinks of me, misses me, and would love to see me again someday when he completely recovers to see his dog again also.
I wanted to laugh. What he did to his first wife, with me, he did to me with this OW and now, he wants to cheat on her, back with me. It is so classic. Politely told him I was more than fine without him, to please appreciate what the OW is doing for him, and to close the book on us. It is over.
I wanted to tell him, that I once loved him, more than he will ever know. But I didn't. I almost wanted to relive all that he ever did to me, but I knew he doesn't remember or want to remember any of it. In his head, he is now a good guy, and a changed man, not seeing that just by calling me, just by betraying the trust that this new woman has for him, is proof enough that he is still the sicko he always was.
This man is now 70 years old, and I thought after this major health crisis that he went through it would be enough to change this person. Life is coming to an end for him in another decade and still he wants to go down as the ladies' man. He will never know what he did for me by saying what he said to me. The last thread of jealousy and wondering what his new relationship was like, was gone, gone, gone. She got nothing. My compassion finally came to the surface and I didn't have that for her at all before. Now I felt bad for her. She will not know what he did, but I know.
I have been fine all these months, but yesterday and today, I am walking on a Cloud. What a piece of crap. And I thank God for showing me one last time that divorcing this man was the right thing to do.

I think you have all the validation you need ! These people don't change, well done for keeping the door closed and not letting him in. He was hoping to triangulate and get more attention, how sick. You haven't lost anything good with him. You have gained life and freedom and living in the truth ! X

Yes kudos for not getting sucked back into the hurricane from hell! I am happy you got your validation and could see it for what it was. There are many women who would not recognize it for what it was and would actually end up feeling wanted and desired and special for having heard from him again. Good for you for passing on the plate of shit he was trying to serve up!

Sounds like you're getting stronger by the day! So glad to hear this.

Very funny! You did the right thing and I am proud of you. N always know the right moment to try to suck people back by using their health situation to make others feel guilty, show empathy and he excepted you to say" Oh sorry! and bla bla bla. They are very manipulative. believe me he was surprised by your response. He was thinking that since he had surgery you will not deceive him , you cannot say no, you would not disappoint him. How could he??! Continue to do what you are doing. SHame on him!
