I don't bite my toenails, mostly because it's too difficult for me to get my foot to my mouth, or whatever. But I can still remember an episode of the television series 'Little House on the Prairie' in which two of the girls were in their shared bed and one of them had her foot up to her mouth and was biting her toenails - and the other sister was threatening to tell their parents! Toenail biting sounds equally disgusting to fingernail biting to most non-nailbiting people, I'm sure. But I can understand that it could develop as a habit, and it wouldn't make the person a bad person, just someone with an odd way about them.

Ha ha, that kind of made me laugh when you said the girl was going to tell the parents for her sister biting her toenail, ha ha.

i bite both....my toe nails and my nails!!!!

I'm an adult married male who is a lifelong fingernail and toenail biter. I used to be ashamed that I bite my toenails and was often caught as child and teen. Now, I am very careful and discreet about when and where I do it. In warm weather I wear sandals and flip flops and it's obvious I bite my toenails, which people notice but I'm not concerned about. I'm also a hard core fingernail biter and do it when and where I feel like it, much to my wife's annoyance. On a whole, I'm a healthy, normal, athletic man.

My story is like Nailman's. But with a little difference: I'm not the only nail and toenail biter in the house. My wife does it too. And believe me: we are serious nail and toenail biters. People are always asking questions about our fingers/toes and the state they're in. when we were younger that kind of questions used to annoy us, but now they don't because we understood that our fingers and toes may look ugly and it's totally natural that people could get curious about them

well, since we are here admitting our toe nail habits, here is mine.

when i was a little girl, i would bite my toenails. i can remember laying in the floor, foot to mouth.

now that i am older, i do not conduct that awful habit, i now pick at them.

i found a pedicure and polish to be helpful. as for the men, try a pedicure (without the polish ;))

i m 28 and i ve been biting my nails for as long as i can remember . i dont think about it just do it unconsciously and i d do anything to break this habit seriously -.-
