Thank you for your post. It is great to know of someone else who understands how difficult it is to overcome the habit of nail biting,. I am not glad of course though that you are going through this annoying, time consuming and socially and physically painful habit., I do believe in you. I know that you can overcome this habit. I am interested in you being able to kick this habit. Please keep me posted as often as you'd like about how it goes. You can message here or to my email @ gwibrowski@yahoo.com, whichever you prefer. Best wishes to you man. You CAN DEFINETLY do this ! - George
I just now joined and am trying after about 35 years of nail and cuticle biting, skin picking and biting the inside of my mouth to stop all that.
I hope you guys are still in this group, and that it is still active. So far I have only seen a couple posts and they are both old like this one (I hope I can revive it a little).
Shakyboy, when I was a kid and biting my fingernails down to nothing, I received as a gift a nail brush for cleaning them when I washed my hands. This kept me clean under my nails, which not only made it so that if I did bite them I would not as likely get sick, but I do not bite my nails as much when my hands are clean. This probably sounds strange and I don't know why, but I have always bitten more when I am slightly dirty. I think I am trying to clean. Yuck! Anyway, good luck!
All the best,
Jeff
