There are some huge snowflakes coming down outside - the tree branches are beginning to hang a little bit with the snow piling up - another Christmas card scene.
This is very exciting!!! My deck has a white blanket of snow on it - the railings have white caps - and the snow is falling a lot. The funny thing is that it is so quiet when if falls and boy is it falling!
My pups keep running in and out and then running back in as if to say "Have you seen this stuff? Come out and play!"
The first time it snowed they were afraid to step on it. They'd start and then pull their paw back quickly - not having a clue. This time they're loving it!!!
Snow is definitely one of my favorite things. As long as it stays light - I don't want to shovel this stuff - just look at it - you know?

It is so peaceful and calming for me to watch the flakes softly falling. And I love it on the trees and rooftops. And on every surface. The prettiest pictures are snow scenes.
Awws your pups sound like they are having fun. dogs in the snow is the most fun and light hearted sight to see.
My dog was apprehensive the first time she saw snow too but she soon got accustomed to it and frolicked in the snow so happily. And my dog is black and she really shows up against the white.
I hope we get a good snow fall soon here where we live. Like you I like to look at it but it's no fun shoveling the drive way and trying to not slip on icy patches.
We don't have any snow yet in Chi Town, but I don't see us escaping it for much longer. In the meantime I'll just let you and your furbabies bask in the glory of it all (((((((((hugs)))))))))
But it stopped snowing and it is melting now - darn it!
Of course, the flip side is waking up to the sound of the snowplow rumbling down the street, lying in bed wondering how big the berm is that's blocking the driveway. Winter's almost here!

I had never seen snow falling until a a month or so ago - and now this one. It is indescribable. Maybe you could take a trip and stay somewhere in the mountains during snow season. It would be so worth it to be able to enjoy watching the snow falling.
It is supposed to snow here tomorrow - I am SO excited. atticus - you are so right - the peaceful feeling that comes over me while watching snow fall is magical. It is so beautiful as it drifts to the ground - silently. I can see it in my mind and get that feeling.
