Try baclofen? It does make you sleepy though..
Lyrica or cannabis or neurontin... those work WONDERS for pain
Best of all for me is I take a magnesium supplement--4 caps daily.

I can't sleep without this stuff and its all natural! It just promotes a regular sleep cycle and helps with cramping muscles. It's amazingly effective!
Other than that can try acupuncture! It works well for my lower back pain and neck/head pain...
So sorry you're going through this! Ice or heat help? I'm heat sensitive but ice tends to help a lot of my pain...

Humanculus, thanks too for your reply. No, I believe the pain is nerve pain from the electrical shock feelings I get zinging down my legs. I have tried to increase my baclofen and am taking the max dose now, so that is not an option any further. Getting high? That is an option, but haven't thought of it so thanks, will try that today I think!! In stead of neurontin, I take Lyrica. I think I will bump up my Lyrica dose, so thanks too for that one. Lyrica helps with nerve pain. You've got something there. I can't imagine putting ice or heat on my legs, I don't want anything to touch them. Even my clothes bother them!
Marilyn and Larry, I already take 1000 mg,. mnagnesium daily. Doesn't seem to help me walk or the pain at all. I tried Cymbalta once during early treatment of pain, but it didn't do anything.
So all, thanks so much for your replies. I think I will call my pain management specialist today and complain about the delauden not working and bump up my Lyrica. I also might try taking a few hits of MJ, who knows? It is really not something that I prefer to do, but if I get desperate enough at night, it's worth a try.
I also bought some compression socks which go up to the knee. They are men's socks but they seem to run a bit small so they fit me ok. They seem to hold the leg in a bit and help a bit.
I've been on/off morphine for the pain. However, I've pretty much quit taking a it as it is highly addictive and very similar (if not identical but a lot cheaper) than Opana.
Have you tried massage at all. That can help. If you don't have anyone to massage your legs, you can do it yourself.
I wish I had better answers for you but it seems like everything to do with MS is guess work. :(
Again, I wish I had better answers for you re: leg pain. Your pain sounds like it is neuropathy pain but it could be a combination of neuropathy pain as well as pain from spasticity. It is often difficult to sort the two out.
I get some real intense spams in my feet and legs and you cannot walk or move the limb affected when it happens. I think this is the difference in part between the two.
You could also reduce sugar, increase B vitamins (shown to help some with diabetes neuropathy), make sure you have enough Calcium citrate or Calcium malate and Vitamin D3 /fish oil so you can absorb the calcium.
Hope you can work with your doc to find something that helps,
EP
YOU MAY BE OVERDOSING ON IT
I take 500 MG Mag, once every 3 days.
TOO much is not good either.
And LDN 3 or 4.5 MG helps greatly too.
and I take B1 100 MG daily, except a Super B Complex instead, every 3rd day
I've taken methadone a few times and yes, it does help.
However, doctors do not like to prescribe it because it is apparently very hard on the liver.
If you don't care about this aspect of it, you may wish to discuss the use of methadone with your doctor and see what he/she thinks about it.
I did try the pain patches (Fentanyl) but they were too strong...I have heard they work for some. It might be worth a try.
I hate hearing of any in pain. I hope you find some relief.
