Also, for me, Alfred Hitchcock was the master of true horror films. He used seeming safe settings, such as a cornfield, or boat dock, to create such intense psyche thrillers. Hitchcook, now he was the master of classy, and timeless horror films. If you think about it.

Me too re B and W flicks. Love photography, and still love shooting in B/W sometimes. Love the shadows, angles ,lines of light.

Actually I would choose Invasion of the Bodysnatchers as well. But it actually terrified me. I credit my lifetime insomnia to this film Yes the original with Kevin McCarthy. The thing is the pods turn into whomever but without the soul. I remember the kid going into the Drs. office claiming that his grandfather wasn't his grandfather, etc.etc. Poor kid was hysterical..The other that may of may not qualify -it was more horror was The Abominable Dr. Phibes with Vincent Price. It was about a guy whose wife died in a terrible accident. They thought he died too, but he survived, but kinda like doesn't have a face. He has to wear a mask. He blames the surgical team that worked on his wife for her death, and is doing them in one by one using the plagues from the Bible. This movie really scared me, as did Dr. Phibes Rises from the Grave. I made my sister let me sleep with her after that one. Did anyone here ever see Soylent Green?
