Great topic! It's always hard for my to narrow down my favorite horror films. I like the classics - you mentioned "Wolfman" and I'm partial to Bela Lugosi's "Dracula".

"Exorcist" is one of the best! One of my favorites is "Halloween" - it's not that original of a choice, but I always want to watch it or the sequel.

"Suspira" is another one I like..."Cabin in the Woods" is a newer one that I think is pretty good.

I just can never narrow it down - too many good ones!

"The Hitcher" with Rutger Hauer

Oh yeah, "The Hitcher" is one of the all-time best horror movies! I remembered it when we were talking about Ruger Hauer, but not horror movies...go figure : ) He's one of the those actors that I wish was in every movie!

Haaaaaaaaaa! Yep. It's a horror alright....but, it's REAL.

I love some movies that border, like The Bad Seed with little Rhoda :"what would you give me for a basket of kisses?"
Another favorite is The Stepfather with Teri O'Quinn "Let's have a little order!"

I kinda feel like Jan, I rarely watch "scary movies" cause I find them stupid for the most part. And not scary. I'll stick with the nightly news, and Nicki Minaj. Now that is one Horror Story, lol. Cotton Candy lady.

Bad seed was good, the black and white version, from the fifties.

Pretty high on my list has to be Peter Jackson's "Dead Alive" (which was actually its American title -- the original title was Brain Dead but there was already a U.S. film of the same name)

2 reasons --

1) It is one of the most disgusting movies I've ever watched, in terms of spectacular gore. Dare I say even more so than Cronenberg's Fly remake with Jeff Goldblum

2) It is a horror comedy, which between Sam Raimi, Peter Jackson and Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead), has become my favorite genre!

Some good votes in here though -- I also liked Suspiria (and other Dario Argento films, and Fulci too)

Cabin in the Woods, sick funny and ironic. When does Joss Whedon ever disappoint?

Ooooooh....I forgot about The Hitcher. Good one. I miss Rutger Hauer. Has he been in anything in the last decade? Where is that mad man?

I have never seen Suspiria....what am I missing? Details, please.....anybody?

It's hard to get a sense of what it's about from this, but it's really good. The ending doesn't disappoint! Very stylized horror. In a nutshell...this girl goes to this ballet school where all of these elaborate murders keep happening. She investigates them and finds out the truth in the end. It makes me want to watch it again! I think it was on youtube.

oh ,yeah, when I was a kid, the original wolfman, and frankenstein, ect, but believe it or not, when I got older, the first pumpkinhead, sent a shiver down my spine, when I first saw the creature up close,lol

I'll go with THE SOUND OF MUSIC! Sorry, not a horror fan.
