New to group, just trying to find someone anyone that can understand my feelings as a mother with a son in prison. Not one time but for the second time now 4 years the first time, 26 years this time!! All the mixed feelings you have, and no one to talk to about it... Then having to take his anger because he's there... Like somehow its your fault!!
My son served three years the first time and is now looking at 25 to life. It's truly devastating! I can relate to the blaming yourself and all the mixed feelings. I know my son has done wrong and I absolutely feel he needs to faces some consequences, but then again in his case I do not feel the punishment fits the crime. I feel like my family is being punished right along with him, and that angers me! I am terrified of the thought of never being able to hug my baby boy again.
