My life changed instantly last month when 4 police officers rang my doorbell and arrested my husband for repeated rape and sexual assault on my daughter. I was so blind-sided. My daughter disclosed to her boyfriend whom I fought with my husband to let her have. Now I'm really glad I did because she found someone she could be open with. It turns out that for the last 3-4 years of our 10 years together he has been hurting my baby girl in the worst ways and I had no idea. After she opened up and said what was going on I filed for divorce and am doing everything I can to try to help my daughter. It was so hard trying to imagine my husband doing the things she accused him of but even more impossible to believe that she would lie and she's my child. I cannot imagine how she felt keeping this secret inside her for years while having to hang out with her abuser all the time. I wish I had her strength.
