I have searched long and hard for a support group dealing with the specific issues that a mother who finds out their child/ren have been sexually abused by their husband or boyfriend face. Once the swirling chaos dies down after discovery and reporting of the abuse, we are left with so many questions, judgement by people we love the most, DSS, police, investigations,...
The biggest thing that we all need to remember is that while we may feel like we are completely broken or literally going crazy, it is not true. We are reacting in a normal and expected way to an abnormal event. Yes, we all have healing to do, but there is nothing wrong with any of us. Learning that in counseling made a huge difference in my progress. I have stopped feeling bad about my reactions to things and keep working on managing or changing of the ones that are unhealthy.

Do whatever it takes to get you through the dark night - there is a dawn out there somewhere. Keep talking to us and a counselor (or whoever). These ladies are great listeners.
