My 10 yr old son just had his first dose of Humira (4 shots) on Tuesday. Yesterday he seemed tired, not today is complaining of a headache and belly pain. Has anyone had this type of delayed reaction to the Humira

My daughter did. It was almost flu like for her a few days after. After awhile that got better. She was on Humira for about 18 months. Now she is just on orals and doing well.

Gus never complained specifically about headaches due to the Humira injections. The only wisdom I can impart is to track the headaches. How often, how long, when and pain level. For example: Humira shot given on Monday 7am. Headache begins on Monday 1 pm, pain level 7/10, administered 1 Tylenol 325mg, Monday 5pm pain still 7/10...etc...for as long as he complains of the headache.

I always find that I get a better response from our doctors when I can be specific about these things. It isn't normal for kids to have frequent headaches. You want to know if it is a side effect of the medication or a symptom of something else.

I hope the headaches go away soon and that Humira is successful for your son.

Thank you. Although I did write down that he had a headache, I wasn't as specific. That is great advice. Thank you...
