Motherless Daughters Community Group

For any daughter who has lost their mother, whether through Death (if it's been one day ago or 40 years ago) or Abandonment, (i.e.-drug abuse, mental illness, physical or emotional abuse, etc.) and is working through the grief process. This group provides unconditional support and understanding from women who have also lost their Moms and who truly care.

Who's first mothers day

so I'm covering my ears muting the TV walking away when I hear any talk of Mother's Day. Only have my younger sister as far as family goes. I have no plan as to what to do that day. Would like to hear a shout out of others going through there first Mother's Day day or how others have gotten through the day.

This is going to be my first Mother's Day without my mom. I just want to skip over the day. It is even harder for me to acknowledge this day because this was the last time I saw my mother happy before she went in three days later for a procedure that began her nightmare and lead to her death. My plan is to buy my mom flowers and acknowledge her this day because in my heart she is still with me and I want to keep remembering her on this special day.

I agree with you. I feel as though it will be hard for me to get up that day and go. But I do know my mom would want me to be happy not sad. So I'm writing her a note tying it to a balloon and sending it off. this will be my first mothers day without her. but she will always be remembered.

I know how you feel. My Mom passed away 36 years ago and Mother's Day has always been tough. My kids obviously have me as a Mom and my DH has his. I have nobody. My MIL is no substitute and never can be.

I like the balloon idea....but it has been so long that I wouldn't know what to say -- its almost as if I've been motherless from the beginning even though I lost her when I was 7. Hardly knew her.

I sent flowers to my SIL this year. If anyone deserved them it was her. She is not motherless but has an extremely challenging life with 2 children that have cerebral palsy. She is an amazing mother.
