Motherless Daughters Community Group
For any daughter who has lost their mother, whether through Death (if it's been one day ago or 40 years ago) or Abandonment, (i.e.-drug abuse, mental illness, physical or emotional abuse, etc.) and is working through the grief process. This group provides unconditional support and understanding from women who have also lost their Moms and who truly care.

Unfortunately, I'm all too aware of it. I lost mine about 6 years back suddenly to a brain aneurysm. Being the only child and very close to mom, I kinda lost my identity that day. It took me months to figure out who I was in this world, without her.
Grieving has a different curve for everyone. I took me about 3 months to enjoy my first meal, about 6 months to laugh heartily at a joke. I could tell you it all got better but I'd be lying. The emptiness and heart wrenching sadness never quite goes away, but it eventually subsides and only visits you on certain days.
As I sit here, ready to marry the love of my life in a week, who never knew my mom, I can assure you it gets better. Keep talking about your mother, her love and sacrifices for you, let others know you come from her and you'll keep her alive in your heart and soul.
Peace and hugs

Our lives were so focused on mom the last several months, that once she was gone, we were in shock, not knowing what to do with ourselves. It has eased a bit but I still stay awake wondering and second guessing if we could have done something to keep this sad tragedy from happening. I think that this is a normal outcome of such a loss. I don't enjoy the pain but I know that it means I had a special connection with my mother that I should miss her this much...I accept the pain and the wonderful memories together. I believe you will reach this point as well. I wish you the best in this grieving journey.
Thank you for your kind words, I guess I'll have to take your word for it, both of you, cause I just feel broken.
